New license in need of help!

Hey everyone, I recently became a medical patient in nova scotia and I can't find any landlords that are willing to let me produce my medicine.... Any suggestions??? Do I have to tell the landlord if i'm only leasing??? please people any help would be good

Iam a candian resident.. I am a caregiver. I would not tell anybody if i were u. Landlords have keys too. My suggestion would be to rent from a friend if u can. I would be discreet..(Spl)

Just make sure you do not do any damage, like moisture damage. You have to remember, they own the place, so they are responsible if you tell them you are growing and there is a problem it falls on them. So, it is better for ALL if they do not know. You can also set up a small outbuilding and lock it. The landlord shouldn't have access to that, but you have to ask before you erect something permanent.

On the Health Canada form there is a spot that asks whether you own your property or rent. If you rent you have to get the lanlord/owner to sign off on the health canada form. Also you must grow at the location/address you were approved for originally. Just because you are approved to possess does not mean you can legally grow, you must apply for that as well.

Yes... LEGALLY the actual owner of the property needs approve of you growing MMJ.

If your landlord doesn't tend to come by on a regular basis and you can run a stealthy cupboard, you should be pretty safe to grow on a small scale.

i am from nova scotia and have a liscense to possess and to produce and yes you must have the landlords permission a form needs to be signd by landlord and submitted to health canada and they will check. sometimes you can get a grower to grow for you for even cheaper than 5 dollars a gram which is the going rate ive heard tell of designated growers growing he supply for free for the patient or s little as 2 bucks a gram to free depending on their prescription

What will they check for?

You think they go to every MMAR license holder and check their house for illegal grows? Or do you think your landlord will start checking because you went and asked him already?

Also, you can go through various organizations to find a DG.... medicalmarijuana.ca charges $3/gram with their growers, but they're pretty flaky in my experience and you can't guarantee the quality or medicine or the environment in which it's grown. They gave up on finding my wife a DG because she's nearly halfway through her current license and nobody would take her on because they have to pay something like a finders-fee to get patients.

Sorry to burst your bubble but if you do not inform your landlord about any activity that changes his property, you can be held liable for any damages caused by said activities. Health Canada also has a form to fill out if your a renter but this is to cover their ass if any legal action is taken.

I have lost a rental property due to the fact that my mortgage was pulled because my insurance company refused insurance due to a grow (legal) that they were not informed of. I needed engineers certificates to reinstate my insurance which I could not afford (almost 9 grand) and now my renter is being garnished 350 dollars a month to the tune of 68,000.00 dollars. The money I lost due to his actions.

Be careful, not all landlords are dicks but they do have a lot of money invested.

Rent from someone you can tell or include.

i laughed at the first page when the guy said the property owner doesnt need to know. yes they need to know and sign the proper forms. You will be charged if you are producing without a licence. The production licence has the location on it as well, so in order to produce, you must have a location, and in order to have a location, it must be your own, or you need permission from someone else, wheter it is a friends house that you can use ( but must be within 100km), or your landlord, if your not the property owner. OR you will not get a production licence, and anything you do will be illegal..... DUMASS.. so yes the person that owns the property you grow at has to know because they have to sign the forms in order for you to even get a production licence.....

i have never been visited but they can come at anytime to inspect ( it is rare)..... i will never go over my plant count and will never store more dried product than allowed.. therefore there there will never be a problem..

Actually i believe that if you are growing for yourself and it is your primary residence the
LAnd lord does not have to know.... I have been visited by LEO before and all they did was a quick plant count. Hope this helps .

Health Canada has specific forms to get permission from the property owner to grow.

Ya guys. This one is cut and dry. You MUST tell the owner of the property and get their approval. It's just that simple.
