Im starting as well and I noticed that keeping the light 4-6 inches away for a week or 2 then moving them about 12 inches away for 3 days and then back to 6 inches helps with the growth. Im using a bubbleponics system with that technique and my plants are looking amazing.

sounds a lot like work to me and can cause em to stretch if you want the best results you can get just put the lights as close to your plants as possible and ONLY move the light up as your plants grow up no need in raising and lowering raising and lowering

During veg, is leaf size and indicator of anything? Some of the leaves on my plants are bigger than my hand, while the average leaf is smaller.

I have a couple different strains growing in a tent. The two I'm growing are going to get really tall so now that I'm in flower I moved the lights far enough to get all the plants direct light. I'm not seeing stretch in this case. I am seeing a lot of new buds though. During veg I kept the lights right down on them, as close as the heat would allow. It seems like it would be a lot easier to do with the same strain.

The leaves are used to take in as much sun light as possible. When my plants were young they had all different sizes of fan leaves. Once they got 18 inches or so, all the leaves were pretty much uniform.

How much do you use?
It should only take a capful to bring it from 5.5 to 6.5 in a 3-5 gallon bucket.

I've heard of people using baking soda to bring the PH back up but from what I hear it's not as "stable" as the premium ph stabilizers on the market.
It's about a cap full. It just seems like a lot compared to the buffer when I PH 8.3 to 6.5. It only takes like 6 drops of down.

Update... Everything is looking good. I'm still having trouble with the environment. I can't keep the tent cool enough or low enough humidity to have CO2 stay in the tent for very long. So I am just circulating air for now. Any ideas on how to setup a tent in a room in a house with 600watts or 1000watts?

I have a new 4x4 tent with 1000 watt HPS. I going to buy the filter and new fan today.

Here are some new pics. I took a few with a jewelers loupe. I got the idea from someone else on the forum. Imaginations go off when you're baked. :bigjoint:
