The best way to tell is with a magnifier of some kind...

Or if you have a half decent digital camera take some close up and focused pictures (focused being the most important part) and zoom them on your computer to look at the trichs

then you can see whether trichs are clear, cloudy or amber and decide when to harvest based on your preferences, strain etc.

Yea i have a x30 magnifier, trichs are still clear of course.

Correct me if i'm wrong, cloudy means head high and amber is more body stone right?

that is my understanding...

Of course it depends on what strain you are growing.. I'm growing indica-dominants right now and don't want them too couchlocky .. I'm at about 75/25 cloudy/clear on one of my plants so I'm chopping soon as soon as I see the first signs of amber or when I see 100% cloudy

I know other growers on journals I've been following have waited for more amber as that was their desired end product.

Yeah...it goes....

Cloudy = Head/cerebral high.

Amber = Couch-lock/narcotic high.

50/50 Cloudy/amber OR "MidAmber" = BEST OF BOTH WORLDS.....hehehehe

Plus, imo, when there is amber involved the high seems to last longer....even if it is only like 5% amber....

I think about two weeks.

But as people suggested here, i'm keeping a close eye on those trichs.
They are still clear...

Your plants look great, Whats your grow space? I have a similar space to work with and i am also using 250W HPS, Im new to growing and have 4 vanilla kush seedlings 1 week old now. I doubt 4 will be able to grow in the same space by looking at yours. How many times did you top the plants?

My grow space is quite small, it's about 80cm wide and 180cm high
The plants can hardly fit in there.

In the first time i had one plant so i could LST and top.
This time i didn't dare to LST, i just topped them once.

In some way i kind of wish i had one plant, the light doesn't penetrate too good so the lower parts of both plants are really under developed.

If you have a grow space some what close to mine, i don't see how you can fit 4 grown plants.

I was thinking of using to 2 strongest looking females and take away the other 2. My grow closet is 57cm x 40cm and 150cm tall. If your having trouble with 80cm ill be having alot of trouble witdth 57cm. Maybe i can veg for less time? or maybe not top top? I would probably be better off with 1 plant, then i wouldnt need to worry about the space.
