Eastcoast starting earlyy!!

Hey guys, havent been on the forums in a while to keep up to date with stuff, but my question here is im tired of

waiting around for spring (eastcoast weather) maryland, i have a abundance of seeds i aquired over time and my

question to you fellas is would i be able to start seeds now in this weather? its been 30-40degrees out sunny some

days on and off.. and i know MJ is a versatile plant when it comes to surviving the cold. My plan is to germ 1-5,

keep them indoors for maybe 1week or 2, then put them outside full time for a long nice veg? would this be okay

(maintaining the cold,sunlight etc) Thanks in advance!!! will start a journal when I start

not quite yet I would give it another couple months to say the least. If you have a way to extend day length or bring them in at night then id say go for it. But east cost nights are cold this time of year and just because its been a little warm I wouldnt count on it staying like that. Good luck

no not at all, i thought about this at first, we are still getting frosts and one frost will easily kill a seedling. ilive in new york and i understand your pain but just wait. ull be regretting it next september when you have no bud because you planted way to early. its still going in the 20's at night and theres stil occasionally snow. dont risk it. just to prove my point try that with one seed, and it will be dead within a few days. i gauruntee it. marijuana is resilient, but as a seedling its still very vulnerable. if you do manage to keep it alive, the cold weather will stunt its growth and it will be even smaller than if you just planted normally. smaller plants equals less bud and an unhappy grower

They won't stay in veg this time of year. The days are way short and they would start flowering on you.

If you have some time on your hands and have the room, here is what I would do. Start maybe 10-20 seeds now and as soon as they are big enough take a clone off of each plant making sure to label each clone so you know which mother it came from. When the clones are well established put them into flowering. When they show sex cull all the male clones and their corresponding mothers (err, fathers). Keep flowering the female clones. When the time comes, take a serious batch of clones off the mothers who's flowering clones you like the best. That will be the set of clones you put out in May.

I can save you some HeartAche you dont want anything out before the first week of June. I've put clones out mid May and it was a disastrous.

Thanks for all the responses i read through them all and understand fully. Ive grown for the last 2 years now and never had a harvest yet. I usually wait till it gets nicer around here 50 degrees and up, sunny etc and pop them in pots. Last years were in 2weeks of flowering and i made the noob mistake of adding to much "budding ferts" if you will and they were brown/greenish the next day you guys have way more knowledge.. and seeing from the posts theres no way around starting them now? I was thinking maybe feeding them CFLS indoors for awhile and trying that... again thanks for all the input!! I HATE THE WAIT lol also how do you guys feel about tilling up clay soil and putting fresh good quality soil in my sites straight from seeds? hows the results

Live and learn...as long as you learn...

We all hate the wait bro but that's part of the game. You're more than welcome to start seeds now as long as you have the resources to keep them in veg for 3+ months and don't mind hauling 8' tall plants out the woods in May
