At this point, not legalizing is illogical.

with rising temperatures, our economy in the shitter and more and more people getting addicted to pain meds, how the hell is America still keeping the cultivation and use of illegal? to those that don't believe in green house gases/the theory(more like proof) of global warming, you need to open your eyes. the global temperature of earth is going up, new york was flooded this year, along with many third world countries the media has no interest in. and carbon levels are at an all time high, and will continue to increase.

we need to lower our carbon footprint, this means growing any type of plant life and reforestation. but who desires growing an oak tree? its not like were gonna harvest an oak tree and gain any type of useful product(drug wise of course).
and wtf, i mean we can make paper and clothes from hemp , as well as biomass fuel. imo, exxon better get on the road to making biomass fuel and all car companies should look into making their cars compatible with it.

cannabis is also a great medicinal substitute for many otc drugs or even prescription drugs, i myself suffer from frequent migraine and sometimes nausea and marijuana is always the fastest cure. nowadays the percentage of people addicted to both otc and prescribed drugs are pretty high, causing crime and thus making us spend more tax dollars, along with the money were spending to feed the people put behind bars for simple possession or growing a couple plants(which honestly should be rewarded, growing any type of plant life helps our struggling environment). and i know all of us on riu know someone whos in jail for this or has been.

the drug war is costing us waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much, and i dont think i emphasized the word way enough. if you wanna look for yourself look at the drug war clock. america needs to wake up, the more we oppress nature the more it will turn on us.

so if you're voting this year, remember who will make the make the process of legalization go forward, or if your voting for newt geingrich or any of those dumbasses(besides ron paul of course), it will certainly go backwards. and this is in the sense that they don't approve legalization, im not calling them dumbasses because of their policies. and i dont care about your political opinion so don't go off talking about how you love newt, nobody wants to hear about politics when they're looking through toke n talk.

who cares if politics are behind it, they already are! Make it legal. Change the way everyone sees weed. Change how people can drink and smoke tobacco and not get judged but people who smoke a join are seen as lower than society. Being a marijuana smoker is today's social equivalent to being racist.

How would you propose to change the way people view alcohol and tobacco? The only direction I see for that is "make it seem worse". I do not see how that helps the image of cannabis. And it only harms the tow legal discretionary drugs. What motivation other than spite can be behind disparaging alcohol or tobacco? cn

The truth about cannabis has been there for a long time . Just suppressed . The majorities view on it has been intentionally swayed by political propaganda and misinformation with the intent to keep it illegal for the purpose of political and monetary gain .

I failed to express my thoughts right. My point was to not change the how people view alcohol and tobacco but bring people to an acceptance with marijuana as people do with Alcohol and Tobacco.

I see. But I have no idea how to achieve that. I thought it would become easier once my generation took office in positions of power and authority. They did, and things remain tough ... tougher in some ways. The grass-roots (!) approach seems to have failed, and I hold little hope of the customary instruments of influence (such as well-placed lobbyists) doing much either. Jmo. cn

If it got as many supporters in an occupy type movement I doubt that national legalization would come through . People have been misinformed for so long it's going to be extremely difficult to change public opinion .

Sitting down with someone who is doesn't like marijuana, lighting a joint, and talking humanely to them. But it requires a lot of patience and knowledge. I did that with two Mormons about God. The conversation ended with one of them looking as if he had been thinking the same way I had about God.

WAKE UP :) our nation has turned the final corner of its programmed destruction timeline. Don't be fooled ;) THEY don't want you to have any legal weed. Sure a lot of money is 'wasted' on busting and processing and storing drug offenders, however here in lies the SECRET!!! We want all the tax payers money to fall into a toilet of despair. No money goes towards national debt, we are spending it on shit departments like the DEA and CIA. Seriously, the USA has a blackhole. it's called the federal reserve. Buy buy american dream.

USA citizens can travel the world yet they don't want to get off the couch and turn off the TV. There is an american embassy in almost every country of the world, and a USA man can get his passport renewed no problem.

The wrong people are in charge. It's just like high school-- the weed smokers are in the lounge laughing and planning keggers and the student government nerds are busy making rules for them to follow.
