When to start nutes?

I have some seedlings that are about two inches tall. Which is pretty amazing since I just started germinating the seeds Monday evening. I was thinking on waiting a few weeks because I didn't want to burn them. I'm using Botanicare pro grow (I know its not truly organic), and any suggestions would be appreciated! bongsmilie

Wait at least 3 weeks before adding anything, seedlings bring their own lunch. Then start with 1/4 of whatever the bottle calls for. Like, if it calls for 1tsp/gallon, use 1/4 tsp/gallon.

That advice is dead on. Remember less is more...rw

And when you say they are two inches tall, is it all stem because they are overstretching for light? or two inches growth ABOVE the stem since monday?

I start in FF light warrior, and i always need to feed by two weeks from sprout, 1/4 strength nutes, recently i've been putting my full "hot" mix soil at the bottom of the cup, about an inch, so when the roots get down to that point they have a little food :)

I have a 600w HPS running at 50% two feet above them with a temp. of around 82. Its not all stem I don't think....

roll5 076.JPGroll5 077.JPGI run a 400w hps in my main box. I build a smaller box to veg. in and put 4' plant bulbs. You can put cfls closer to the weed. so you can control stretch. Here's two
pics. You get a nice even growth with the tubes, plus there 9600 lumen....rw

well that's a shit ton of light for just seedlings :D i'd pull that light up at least another foot so it runs a little cooler around 75F, sometimes i throw my seedlings into the veg chamber which is 400w lights, and they are 4 feet from the light.

A little CFL or 2'/4' shop lights are ideal for seedlings, some will be more sensitive to our HID lights at such a tender young age
