why would you take the chance? one hermie and a chunk of your crop goes to shit. cover it.It won't make any difference what so ever......

I've never worried about making things blacker than where the sun don't shine lol, never had more than 5 or 10 seeds in any given grow, and over the years that is bound to happen regardless... I think a cerrtain percentage of growers believe in light leaks for the same reason some people believe in god/heaven/hell... lol... Why take the chance...A pal of mine thought this , he grows outdoors , right behind his driveway , it's no panic for him he lives in Guyana,
Anyway he says that every night for about 10 mins when he get's home his car headlights light his plants up big time , with no ill effect ,
I work in my bloom room with a 40w incandecent red bulb during dark period with no ill affect,
A small red power on led on his ac/unit will have no affect,
Evening
i hope this is sarcasm. cover EVERYTHING! light leaks are the biggest noob mistake! its just pure lazinesshell just leave the lights on then right........

Very valid , moonlight etc , it's never completely dark outside..........Agreed. Just wanted to point out for those with an anxed simple measures alleviate the concern (MAYBE). We are all told from the beginning complete darkness but as you know that isn't completely accurate. No more than natural full moon the standard but a little light here and there has never presented problems for me.
negative amigoFull moon is one lux, which is basically one lumen/sq meter. Much more than that I would worry.
