if he knows the answer then why does he have to ask what the ? is
his post contributed zero accept one more post to his post count not saying that thats whuy he posted but thats the only help i seen his post do

well the wiring isnt that hard u have just 2 wires to deal with
as for hps i would go with at least a 150 w for one plant

Thanks FAB, I'll be hitting you up whenever I begin my grow!! Everyone here has answered all my questions and I appreciate it very much!! So this is what I'm thinking:

250w HPS for 3 plants in 2-3 gallon pots growing 12-12 from seed.
Also I've been looking at grow tents possibly down the road with 600w HPS 4X4 tent..
But for now, you guys think with the 250w and 3 plants in 3 gallon pots I could pull maybe oz each?
What would be the most number of plants you would throw under a 250?

for 12/12 from seed i think a 250 will be ok since 12/12 dont get as big as ones vegged then flowered
and a 600w later with a 4x4 tent would be awesome

i picked upa 250 hps security light with internal ballast at salvage yard for $5 and took ballast out and added wire to place the ballast outside grow to keep heat down
if u have salvage yard near u look there or on craigslist
lots of good deals there sometimes u can buy a complete grow tend fan and lights cheap

i grew 6 plants from seed then flowered, under 250w and yielded 125 grams the first time and the second time i changed soil to happy frog and did some upgrades and yielded 136 grams......so it just depends on how you gro

That's real nice man. Did you have C02? bet you could get that close to 150-160g per watt if you added Co2. Still well over 0.5g per watt on your first grow is really good.

You could probably find much better deals on the net if you searched around. That is a premium package there with a Secret Jardin tent and a Quantum ballasts. These are HIGH END equipment pieces. If you want to save some more money look around on the other websites. Also, don't let other people tell you what to buy. Bigger lights mean more heat and more electricity. A 600w light and the cooling that goes along with it could end up putting $80-$100 on your electricity bill every month. Plus, when you get into the 600-1000w range inside of tent you can have an issue with heat that would require an a/c. I am not saying you will but it becomes a real possibility. Are you prepared to buy a portable 8,000btu a/c unit and then duct it outside and into your tent? You had better be because it is a real possibility. People on here love to tell others what to buy but no one here lives with you; knows the specific issues you will face; nor pays your electric bill. Do what is best for you.

Phillip hitting me with the truth!!!!!hahaha I like it!!! Would a 250w or 400w be able to handle that much room and avoid the heat problem? Would the 400w HPS be a lot better on the electric bill as well? Man, I hope I'm not killing you with the questions, but I greatly appreciate your help!!!

Goddess that was AWESOME!!! Thank you so much!!! Any heat issues with the 600w HPS? If I switched it out for a 400w HPS, could I save some money on the light bill without giving up much yield?
