I sometimes dont listen to internet people either...because they aren't there actually seeing what you are seeing...all I know is that I had a male plant finish growing it's balls, and at the tops where the pollen sacks had fallen off or started to there appeared to be hairs...but they are not hairs...they are also part of the male anatomy...here is the deal...if you find hairs at the bottom of this male plant then try to use some of it's pollen to pollinate itself, but here is my question...if a female plant that turns hermie makes female pollen that ultimately makes female seeds that are more likely to hermie...then wouldn't male "hermie" pollen make only male seeds that are more likely to hermie, since there was no true female involved...I though my male was going both ways, til I realized it was just the end of the male life cycle to sprout hairs out it's top..;ohhh another thing to check...are there any trichomes visible on the leaves...I bet there isnt...so throw that plant out and concentrate on your female plants...I promise this male hermie dream you are chasing is just that...the top of any male plant will sprout hair like appendages...but go ahead and watch it all unfold...at least you will know for next time.

Wow, you actually listened/read and tried to understand what my issue is and why I refused to throw it out. THANK YOU! YES the structures are only on the top bud, so I think you are right. I guess there is just a lot of ignorance since few ppl on RIU would allow a male to grow out this far. they just make silly assumptions that I'm ignoring thier advice, but their advice is too automatic and not really based on my specific question; then i feel like if they are bad listeners I would be foolish to override what i am actually seeing on my plant which is FUCKING FEMALE HAIRS. but yes i will toss it out since you explained it the way you did now I know the female hairs are just some form of male structure. besides like you are saying. it would have all the wrong/undesired chromosomes pairs anyway

because the "help" hardly adresses my questions or pays attention to my concers, its just rehashed generic advice which assumes that i havent done my hw or research. LOOK at my pictures and you will see the calyx and two hairs coming out of the plant. tHEN you will understand the source of my confusion and would have been better able to explain to my why the pant is in fact not a hermie despte the female structures growing on it. Instead you guys choose to disregard my words and tell me "Throw it out". but you never told me why they look EXACTLY like female hairs if the plant is not a hermie.

missnu. I see the flower top leaves have a whitish color, BUT please LOOK at my photos for more than 2 seconds. you will SEE calyx and two WHITE hairs popping out of it, those are obviously something else. but I get your point. ty

Well, there's two different issues here; one is YOUR issue of not understanding. That's a personal problem that you should address.
The other issue is the state of your plant which many here are capable of commenting on, accurately, not generically. The only relevant thing to say about it is it is not female and, therefore, not useful to you. Whether it has a calyx and pistil structure is immaterial since it clearly has stamens and therefore pollen. NOW go do your homework.

I see them...but again I have seen the same...if you leave it longer still it will drop all the balls and be nothing but hairs, at the top it will look like a female that is 2.5 to 3 sweeks into budding, but there will be no stickiness, much less smell...it will smell less like weed and more just like a plant, and the hair areas will get no larger...I have let males totally finish and they do start to look a good deal different as they lose more pollen sacks, but it is the way of male MJ...most people don't know, because they don't grow them out...but I do...since I have a fetish for seeds...and besides how would i know the life cycle of a male plant to help others if I hadn't seen it myself...
Now a female that turns hermie you can smoke and it will smoke just like it should, perhaps after you take out the few seeds you may have gotten in the process...but a male plant makes so much less THC than females and hairs or even growing female hairs won't change that...but for real most male plants when left to drop all their pollen the tops will get rather profuse with hairs...but they aren't the same hairs that are on a female...as i said...no resin, no stickiness...so no good to use keep or smoke...but hey let it keep growing and perhaps I will be wrong and you may have stumbled across something amazing...but after a few weeks of what looks likes 3 weeks of flower, you will want to go ahead and lead him gently into that good night...I guess males want to live too...so perhaps all males do this hair thing, but with some it actually takes and they manage to keep going...I don't know..as I said I have given up eventually and I haven't grown out too many males...perhaps 10-15 totally to the point of looking hairy, but none actually did anything good...so you can give it a shot...and all this is a learning process, and the more you grow the more you know and it's great to learn cuz Knowledge is Power!!!... School House Rocks! Oh yeah!

Oh no...I definitely see it, but have seen it before...lol. It's alright though...if people always took other people's word for things nobody would ever learn anything different and we would all live in a boring stalemate of life where there is only one way to do everything...but we dont...and there are a million ways to do anything...so...don't let people get you down...some people get pretty offended sometimes if you choose to not take their advice...

i see where your coming from,, if in fact you deff believe its a hermie ( its the most predominantly male hermie ive ever seen )
then keep it to be sure, just to be safe get it away from your flowering females,, if you let it pollenate people say you will have fem'd seeds but they will be more likely to hermie on you at the slightest stress. you will also got robbed on harvest weight, seeds can take up to 70% of the weight.

Drummmmmmmmmmmmrolllllllllll. I KILLED IT! i murdered it in cold blood out of panic. No one told me 70% of weight could be seed in the female if i allow the pollen to escape. I was thinking more like 20%. but no way i will risk the true females for one hermie cola.
Also like you said, its not sticky at all, and it smellls very grassy while my females smell like sweet fruit mixed with skunk, so that alone might further suport that its of no real use.
None of the sacks burst as I have been removing the big ones every morning while the were wet.
Its just sad to toss something after spending 10 weeks nurturning it. It was a true spartan, the only one out of my horribly abused first litter that survived. RIP Ballsy

I only do seeds on the first run starting up. All of the males get tossed into the rest of the bunk because it makes good binder for pressed hash.
