Mj is in fact a semi-hardwood. I use stimroot #2 in rockwool and a mini-greenhouse made outta a clear plastic garbage bag.

Root-riot cubes in a propogator, Clonex gel, mist twice daily. Keep low light levels (north facing windowsill). Keep around 70 degrees, use a heated propogator if needed (beware of cubes drying out if doing so). Make cut at 45 degree angle with sharp, clean razor-blade below third or 4th node, removing all leaves apart from top 4.

did you try lightly scraping the stem with the razor? I use jiffy pucks and have pretty decent success.
do you have gnats? the gnat larvea will make cloning impossible as they eat the roots too fast for the plant to establish.

FWITW, I have the same problem. 3 attempts, 26 cutting. Nothing. I even got some roots but the stems rotted at the same time. OTH, I meet a guy that says he's never been able to get hydro to work, I find that very easy. It really bums my green thumb to not get any clones.
I'm thinking about making a cloner? I've tried Rapid Rooter and rock wool. Clonex and gel. IAC, I'll pass a little tip I got at the hydro store.
I lightly scrap, but was told not to smear the clone gel all over the lower stem. I had seen that, but much can be attributed to SALES. Like toothpaste, right? So, I'll try again. But this time, I'll only dip the cut tip in gel. Maybe the water uptake is blocked????
IMO, Clonex is the Shit.
I only had about a 50% success rate with cuttings until I started using Clonex.
Now I have a 51% success rate.

I still lose a couple here and there, but the majority do well.
*Tip: Never, never, never, dip your cuttings into the bottle of rooting agent. You run a very high risk of contaminating the rest of the agent. Just ask me...... I know

Cloning just takes practice's.My first clones took 3 weeks, stressed out but lived.Second time I knew more on not what to do.Well so far my second batch of clones are looking like clones!

maybe getting air in the stem. cut, put in glass of water, then make angled cut under water. right to hormone, and into medium. good contact with peat, soil, rock wool, etc is important. don't give up. if your method is failing, adjust it.

If they're alive, be patient. I had some extrema cuttings take 4 weeks in a bubble cloner. Everything else is 5 - 14 days for me.

avoid spraying them, if your propagator is working as it should, with very high humidity, condensation all over it water droplets dripping off the roof
they do not need spraying anymore than every 2-3 days, keeping them constantly wet delays things imo,
they do not want to be wet, they want to be in a high humidity environment , which is enough to stop them wilting
keep a little water at the bottom of the propagator to help keep the humidity high
let them breathe every day by opening vents for a few hours at a time
be patient they will root .. cuttings i took have just rooted, in 12 days, no roots were visible on day 10
they all pop out all of a sudden kind of thing

A few other points:
-Some strains definitely are easier/harder to clone than others.
-If you're just doing "glass of water" with no rooting hormones or bubblers, etc, you can expect the rooting to take three full weeks and you will lose a lot of the clones along the way. A good rooting compound doesn't just contain rooting hormones, it also contains anti-fungal agents to help reduce the chance of rot.
-Cloning powder can be had at Walmart or any decent "big box" hardware store for about $6 a can. The stuff may not be as good as high-end cloning gel, but its a LOT better than nothing!

little tip; lower N 50-70 ppm raise PK same on ur moms the week before u take cutting
this forces the plant to carb load
result ing rooted cutting in as soon as 4 days after taken if ur temps rh etc are correct (N INHIBITS ROOTS GROWTH)
hope this helps u out if ur yellowing ur too much light /temps to high
also cut up center of cutting and gently scrap outer stem off lik a film on the stock this lets more hormone in the plant quicker

If I have problems with clones not rooting leaving the top off for a few hours normally causes them to root within a few days. If they're too cold it will also take them longer to root.

Cloning a seed plant is not so easy but to clone from a cloned seasoned mother is aesy. Seed plants are hollow and clones from a clone are not. For rockwool you need to put down a clean single layer of gravel in the bin because these clones will mostly push their roots through the bottom of the cube where clones taken from a clone will mainly push through the sides of the cube. The roots need air and by sitting them on the rocks it allows the cube to breath.

Yeah Im going through the same thing, cut five from one plant to see if they would take....its been two weeks and they still look nice but I dont want to check the roots in fear of wrecking one. Did have one wilt out of the blue and it seemed to have a few spikes of root starting after I yanked it out of its cup. Should a guy wait longer or can you check roots without fuckin em up? Mine are in red solo cups.
