Heya Downinit, glad to have you here ;) Feel free to stop by whenever you can....getting ready to do an update in a sec here. They have grown SOOOOO much since last week, it's amazing! Growing is so fun!

I did a little bit of photography work last winter in Franconia Notch (norhtern NH area) but nothing elaborate yet. I have a Canon Digital Rebel XS that I took out for a few days to shoot some pictures of the mountains, but I'd like to take some photos of a female model to help with my figure drawing skills. And no, don't bother asking. catt would never agree to pose for me. :p

I don't want to hijack catt's thread, so I'll just provide a link to one of my shots. I have it in every desktop resolution imaginable, too. It was fun to play with it in Photoshop. :)

update! WoOhOo!!
They are just starting week 3 veg, I figured I'd start timing my veg count when they went into their final pot and had their first feeding which was on 03/14. If you count from seed they are exactly 20 days old today ;) I'm still in shock at how simply amazing they are doing. Maybe it's the Neptune's, the seaweed has magic powers I hear :) Makes me think of how my first grow was looking after 20 days, and they were only 1/4 the size of these girls and on their 3rd node and real stretchy. 3 of the bubbles are looking to be starting on their 5th node already and 1 is just behind at 4. The smaller one with the 2 twisted leaves looks like that bcuz it's the one I had to take the seed casing off myself....it would of strangled her to death if I didn't. She still seems real healthy....just a bit smaller than her sisters.
Start week 3 veg meant time for straight fish fert :) 1oz per gal they had today as per the Neptune's feeding schedule...I was ph-in at 7.0 so I threw in a few drops of ph down to the mix. I did hear from someone who has grown Bubblelicious many times and they said they noticed the bubbles seemed to really noticeably thrive with a ph of 7.0. I really didn't even wanna be messing around with that ph stuff, but I really want to do this right so WTH! It says 1oz seaweed mixed with 1/2 oz straight fish in between week 3-4 so that's what I'll do. I've only been feeding straight seaweed in between weeks if I need to water until now.
I thought and thought about when to top....I did a whole bunch of research and I think I got information overload and nothing will process in my brain correctly now in regards to when exactly I should cut their heads off. First time around I didn't even think much about it...I just did it! But this time....I don't know.....I'm confused. I want them all to be kinda short but not too short, and bushy but not branchy bushy. They are about 4-6" now and haven't stretched very much yet. Anyone have any advice on the topping? I was thinking mid week next week....do I want them dry when I top or should I water first? I'll wait to see what everyone says before topping them. I wanted to start flowering after week 4 was finished but I know they need time to recoup, bout a week right?

Oh yeah one more thing....I noticed the stems seem to be shedding a layer of fuzzy looking skin??? I didn't notice if it happened on my first grow, is this normal cuz they are just growing so fast? Anyone have any thoughts on that?

Don't worry about the layer shedding that's normal.I always see my seedlings do that around that size. Is wait till you see some healthy new growth from the node that you topped cause its gonna be like "WTF?!?! I could of swore I just had one head" for a couple days , then she'll realize what happened and push out two new ones lol

Everythings looking good, nice healthy shade of green

And yes I come to find out cannabis loves seaweed ferts they just seem to blow up when you start feeding. I'm using seaweed based nutes too
 
I thought I'd pipe in since I'm just days away from a Bubblelicious harvest of 15 plants. As you'll see, they are easy to manage and grow healthy and vigorous. There is some variation of phenos though so be prepared for that. Out of 15, 2 were quite tall and I had to bend the center colas quite a bit to even out the canopy. This pheno is also touchy and it showed deficiencies later in flowering but still produced the best yield, most frost and earliest flowering. Another pheno (2 other plants) have a "flat-top" center cola- this must be a N.L. #5 leaning pheno and they are behind everything else finishing-wise. Remember, flat top main cola so these are easy to spot. The last pheno is the the most common and I have nothing special/unusual to report about it yet......

These need to be taken the full 10 weeks to finish well and give the resin enough time to really pop towards the very end. I have to take mine down at day 65 (new plants need that space) but since the buzz is already quite strong, I feel confident it will be fine. They aren't particularly smelly and the taste (I've been drying pieces for sampling) is very floral, very light flavor wise. The sweetness and occasional bubblegum smell/taste will come out with a good cure over time- but it's not there early in drying. The buds are nice size with some density. Hope this helps you out......... and for everyone else, it's a nice Nirvana strain- easy to grow, decent to better yield, really nice heady buzz and reasonably priced feminized seeds. I'll be growing this out again real soon.......



P.S.- I just reread your post and wanted to answer your questions. I did not top and unless you have height issues, other than the one tall pheno, they don't grow crazy tall. I vegged for 26 days and thought (correctly) any more they'd end up too tall at the end. It was a perfect "height" grow for me- maybe a 1.5X stretch in flowering. I grow in promix and kept the pH at 6.2-6.3 throughout the grow. You may do well to raise the pH on just the tall pheno when the deficiency begins about midway in flowering. Lastly, I under fertilized these plants (about 25% less) than my indica's I have going at the same time. I believe they enjoy a slightly lower fert regimen......
 
Wow, catt, those plants are growing fast! They look so healthy! I can tell they're doing great, and that's coming form someone with the opposite of a green thumb.

Hey Kush, thanks for the feedback ;) I actually haven't topped yet, which node do you top at? I think that is what I'm so confused about, does it really matter which? I always thought you can top them anytime after the 3rd r 4th one, but then I started reading up on it a bunch and some say topping at certain nodes makes your plants do certain things?? I don't really need them too short - just not really wide. Height is not an issue, but I do want a good yield which is why I want to top. I just don't want them to be little dwarf plants. Do you top when they are dry or before you water?

I LOVE when things are perfect :) I still haven't figured out how I'm gonna set the lights up when we go into 12/12. Maybe just the same as last time, maybe not! I do want to try an keep them all the same height but I don't think that's gonna work out very well now that I know from SSHZ I could end up with some tall ass phenos! O and a NL#5 pheno would friggen be AWESOME!!! How are your ladies doing Chief? Your FCJ must be getting so ripe :)

I know right :) I'm hoping everything will go smoothly as long as I stick to the feeding schedule from Neptunes. I did sneak in a few pinches of blood meal in each pot before I watered last week ;) Greened em up just right. I am noticing they are starting to really burst after their weekly feeding.....I love getting to know your plants :)

I sure am glad you piped in SSHZ ;) Alot of good information that I did not know about the Bubbles, and the whole pheno thing is CRAZY. I did know there is a pheno who's leaves get a pink tinge to them, do you have one of those, are those the sativa dom. ones? And what's this "flat top" main cola all about? I must do research on that so I can be on the lookout because I sure want me one or 2 of em :)
Compared to my first grow 10 weeks will be a breeze...lol. I sure do have WAY more patience with this grow than my first.....I can actually make it to work on time now cuz I don't feel the desire to look at them for 2 hrs a day...HAHA!

Just so everyone knows... If you are not using hemp wick or hot glass to light your weed you're spoiling your weed. That is all. (PSA)
 
I usually top on the 3rd,4th,or 5th node. I do it before the lights go off so it can recover a little faster but if you're on 24/0 it doesn't really matter.
 
I fully agree you should do it now! I say while it's dry so you can water right after so the ladies have some cushin for the pushin if you will...

K, thanks Kush :) . How do you decide...3rd, 4th 5th? Does it even really matter? Aww wth, I'll top em tomorrow morning when my lights go out (18/6)...10 more minutes till lights on :)
