Planning my 4800 watt flower room

Alright So I've finally gotten moved in and settled into my house and I'm finally living in cali so It's time to get down to business and start working on the construction of my flower room while I wait to get my medical rec. I'm going to be using a portion of my garage which I will build a wall to seal it off from the rest of the garage. The exterior wall already has two grated vent holes for some reason so I'll be using them to pull in fresh air for my lights and to vent a portable AC. Plan on running 8 600W setups and the room will be around 12'X20'. Heres a few pictures of the space as it sits now.

what part of cali u in? im in san diego. i would love to check that room out once u get it all set up. i been rockin all my buddies grows but nothing they have will compare to 4800 watts of ballin plant goodness. lmao. make my 1400 watts look girlie. super subbed.

20x12 is 240 sq. ft., 50 watts a square foot, equals 12000 watts. (unless my math went bad). Do you plan on using light movers? you could def cover that area with movers, or make it a bit smaller, or youd probably be fine as is too.

I dont plan on literally covering the floor with plants. Going to have each light covering 6 plants....with a total of 48 plants flowering. This way I have lots of room to walk around instead of trying to squeeze between plants to water them.

That's a nice looking setup. Before you go any further I'd investigate hanging bulbs vertically and growing little trees around them. Will save you on reflectors and likely give you a better result in terms of yield IMO. Good luck I am looking forward to seeing what you do, I think you will do well regardless.

Very nice floor plan, what program did you use to design it?

I do it with a program called Smart Draw. Check out my sig on floorplans. I would use autoCad but that's a pain in the ass plus I only have it on my desktop at the office. Is a much more detailed 3D plan but I'm just doing them for people to help them out. Keeping it simple.

id be a bit worries about chaining 4 lights with one fan for the hoods. Maybe one on each end, or one in the middle and one on the end?

Ya I figured youd pack the space, thats what I do, always too many in the space.

re you just gonna fit the plants around the footprint of the hoods? No reflective material right around them? Rolls of attic insulation stuff are relatively reflective and can stand alone and be customized to size, and easily moved.

I'm going to be lining the entire room in black and white. Went out and did a bit of shopping. Couldnt get everything I wanted because my car was completely full. Gonna have to go back for another round today or tomorrow. Also gotta pick up a new bed today so while i'm out with a uhaul i'm going to grab some wood so i can start building the wall that will seperate my room from the rest of the garage.

Are you gonna put up drywall or plywood? Or are you just going to put up the frame and then go with black & white over that? I strongly suggest either plywood or drywall. Much better than just plastic walls.

Probably going to put up plywood and then nail the black and white poly to it. Gonna look to see how much sheets of plywood are at home depot this afternoon and will probably buy the stuff to start framing it up tonight.

Plastic walls are cool for a seasonal grow or a 1-2 harvest churn and burn job but for anything long term just go with some 3/4" plywood. You'll get better insulation and won't be fixing tears in your plastic all the time.

I had so much fun in there yesterday. And they actually price matched BGhydro on those 600 watt dual ballasts so I came out only paying 275 a peice. And then they knocked 10% off the top. Will definitely be doing all of my spending with them for now on.
