So this is my 1st ever grow. 3.7 sq feet 'cab' lined with Mylar (mostly).
Now in flower week 1.
30k lumens total included are 7k of bright light.

My main problem right now is that the Blue Widow is stretching something fierce and burning itself on the lights every night. At this rate it will be too tall for the cab soon.

Not sure what to do about that as it has already been topped and too late for LST.
Opinions/suggestions are welcomed. Please follow the link under my sig if you would like to see the whole journal form beginning.

top that baby it will slow it down. You may have to do it a couple of times. Just pinch the upper new shoots off. Have you started flowering yet... 30k is a lot with CFl, what kind do you have and how many?

I'd super crop it. Providing you don't snap the stem, it will still produce a cola and keep your canopy uniform as well.

I've just finished 1st week of flowering. The Blue Widow has already been topped and has reached the point where it cannot be topped again. (nodes growing at inervals rather than in pairs).
My 30k of lumens are made up of 22k of 2700k warm white and 8k 6500k daylight bulbs. Have 12 bulbs in total.

I've been considering doubling the size of the cab and putting 2 plants in each spreading the bulbs about as needed. If that means adding a few more bulbs no problem! I'm sick of burning my plants on the bulbs as the space is just too small!

So I've done this to hopefully solve the problem. I remember reading somewhere that a certain wattage is acceptable per plant. Seeing as I've not increased the grow space TOO much I might get away with splitting the area and using more mylar. It is still a bit of a work in progress. More Mylar needs sticking in there but it is a more flexible arrangement. Looks more like a verical grow now!

So the plants continue to stretch so I'm trying LSTing on the photoperiods. The autos I'm leaving alone as they look like they are budding already anyway!

The Critical auto will surely be harvested first. Probably not for another 3 weeks though. Next will be the NL auto. Probably 4-5 weeks on that one. The BW and TD prolly 6 weeks min. Although this being my first time I am not 100% sure what to expect.

Update time. LST is working nicely although it is presenting some positioning problems for the plants as they grow out as well as up.
Have tried a bit of supercropping too but not too much. Not sure how it works exactly to crush ones stems!

Love the setup man I read all the post, how long did you veg, and what are those honeycomb looking things.
Veg about 1 month. Not sure exactly when a plant officially finishes being a seedling and goes into veg so a bit hazy on that detail. The honeycomb things are disposable de humidifiers designed to be used in wardrobes to keep clothes from going musty. Hopefully that will lower the RH locally in the cab to acceptable levels. The ambient RH in the room outside the cab area is generally between 60-70% so have tried to lower it a bit around the plants.

Quick pictorial update. LST has created so many new budsites that I'm worried that my nute regime will not keep up with the plants needs. However I'm sticking to my guns for the most part as I've seen what over nuting can do to these wonderful plants. Critical is getting closer. Have to find a jewellers loop to examine those triochromes! Any ideas what kind of shop sells them? Jeweller? Have no Radio Shack where I live.:?

Mostly pics to show you my set up. As you can see it is a hook and chain arrangement with adjustable height but not much horizontal movement possible.
