How to transplant Jiffy peat pellet seedlings to pots??

Hey Guys! When my seedlings are up and strong and I'm ready to go from these Jiffy peat pellets to my buckets and after my bucket is prepared, how should i transplant? I was thinking that I would just peel that netting off the peat pellet and leave the cube of soil on the seedling and plant it all in my bucket just like that. I figured it would be less damage to the newly formed roots. How do you guys do it? Any suggestions would be awesome! Thanks in advance.

Thats what I meant by peeling that netting off. It's real easy to just pull off. It tears easier than paper. I did that with my tomatoes.

I have never removed the netting. The roots will grow just fine if you leave it. That's all I have ever used until my current grow. I got some sponge pots for free with a seed order from Sannies and gave them a go. If you have used the jiffy pellets for other plants with no issues with the netting, you will not have any issues with growing Mary Jane in them!!!! Happy Growing.

Ive always taken the nets off. Not sure why, just always have. You can tell by looking at the little nets that the roots will obviously be able to grow through. I just like to take them off. I was just curious what everyone else's method was. Would it be better in those little expanded peat pellets or to plant that germinated seed straight into my 5 gallon buckets do you think?

I have never removed the netting. The roots will grow just fine if you leave it. That's all I have ever used until my current grow. I plant seeds in either pellets or straight into the medium, again, no difference at all. The only reason i opt for pellets is that it means i can plant more seeds in a smaller space and then move the more viable looking seedlings into the larger pots and discard the others should they not look upto scratch.

yep! I like the pellets, and I don't ever take the netting off, just stick the whole thing in the dirt...

weeds crack the side walks..... cotton doesn't stop shit.

Cutting the cotton siding off does more harm than good... ALOT more harm than good.... one time you will go to revome the netting and the whole thing will fall apart.... bye bye seedling / clone...

Why does it HAVE to be a 5 gallon bucket? why do people allways take shit to the extreme??

Plant the seeds in 4 inch pots. then you dont have anything to worry about and still get the benefits of root compression / expansion.

Marijuana likes to be transplanted from smaller containers into larger containers after the roots have had some time to circle the pot. not enough to slow growth, just enough to fill the soil.

almost everyone on the advanced side of things (a few years growing...) knows the biggest growth spurts come after transplanting and when the lights are just flipped....
