is this the correct way to wire cfls together?

Would this be the correct wiring for a junction box , that would be a lot tidier.

Like someone said, both are correct. I prefer parallel versus in series.

It might be too late but you can order these for $4. Ceramic socket and everything.

Ok so i just nipped to b&q and got a 4 way 20 amp junction box and some more holders and i am planning on wiring as above. In the plug wired to the mains does this have to be 3 amp or 13 i am assuming 3?

20W(X4)=I(amps) X E(voltage)... Idk what voltage u r using... If u r in the US, u likely have a 110V, 20A circuit to plug into... So, if this is the case, u r only pulling .72 A... So, a cable rated for this would work in as small as 16AWG... But, overkill in circuitry never hurt anything, and Id go with standard 14-2 w/ ground cable for wiring... If u add fans or any other lighting to this, it will increase your cable size needs... For these tiny lil CFLs, a simple 20A plug-in timer will suffice for making sure your photoperiods r consistant, without having to rely on manually turning the system on or off, which is easily forgotten, or slept thru, and highly advised, lest your plants become shocked due to weird photoperiods...

Ive never seen any edison-based CFL's run on 220V, but then again, Ive never been to Europe, so Idk... I have wired (2) 110V, 150W incandescants in series, in temporary sockets, on 277V, for temporary job lighting, and have seen this work quite well...

both are correct...but you wont bring as much load issue on the wires the second way....but i dont kno it matters if you only using a few cfl bulbs....u can use a regular light fixture or a dedicated juncbox, doesnt matter, nice to see you gonna use a box...safety firsrt
