Spring fishing

I live in the northeast and i'm wondering if anyone has been out fishing. In my neck of the woods we mainly fish for brook trout and landlocked salmon. I caught a couple brookies in a brook about 6 feet wide behind my house. The smelts are starting to run so the salmon should be here soon. Anyone else been fishing? Post some pics or tell us what you've caught. All fishing stories welcome freshwater and saltwater.
Good lookin brookies. I haven't hit the holes yet but looking forward to fryin some up

Nice Pics.. As much as I like fishing for Yellowfin and Dorado's, I always seem to enjoy fresh water fishing a bit more. Pulling in a few 80lbs fish is an amazing experience but floating down a stream in a tube w/condiments, is soooo more relaxing. Not saying better but a lot less work. Either way it looks like you did it in style. Nothing like fresh sushi.

We do some tube fishing up my way also. 12 pack of bud some good smoke and relax. It's fly fishing only in the river i'm next to. Get some nice fish due to the fact most folks are too lazy to walk 5-10 miles in. LOL

what type of boat is that
The first pick is a 68' custom I had built and delivered in 2010.

The second pick is from a 1969 51' Whiticar I bought a while back and spent a full year restoring and modernizing. Dropped in new engines, electronics, fabrics, gens, etc... Total overhaul.

Sorry man, Costa Rica most of the year. We get up as far as New Jersey in Sept. for a tournament but then turn right back around and hit North Carolina then Florida for 2 other tournaments. Then she's on Dockwise or Yachtpath and back down here to get ready for the first tournament in December.

Different strokes for different folks. I like bigger game. Not 80lbs...more like 800lbs. You can make it as relaxing as you want. If you're not fishing a tournament then we go inside and play PS3 while someone else watches the reels; we smoke all day; go swimming; eat great food. It's all the same man.

Thanks man. The past is the past; we'll just leave it there and move on. Glad you like the pics. You'd love Costa Rica man. Great country. Just don't let the guys on the dock hear you call it "deep sea fishing." :bigjoint:
"Sportfishing" or "Billfishing" and you'll sound like an old pro.

That's a beautiful rainbow you got there. Is one of those a sea trout? That is one fat fish! Or is it a salmon?

Those are all rainbow trout. Got a lake at my parents house that's been private since 1886. 120ft deep and 2 miles long. Inside of a private community. No gas boats ever allowed on the lake. I have a trolling motor hooked up to an 18 footer we bum around in. It's pretty sick. All the smallmouth pics are from there too.

Sounds like you got it dialed in my friend. If your going to do it, that is certainly the way to do it. NICE!!

And the fish look just as impressive.

I have not been able to do it in a while but it really is relaxing. I bring two tubes. One for me and one for my beer.
