The pot really gave me a confidence boost.
Confidence can be such a powerful tool! Great job on the grow c2g, and growing your own veggies can be quite rewarding too. I am doing cukes, bell peppers, green beans, jumbo 4th of july tomatoes and roma tomatoes this year. The stuff you grow yourself is always tastier and better for you, whether for food or smoke! Enjoy the continued fruits of your labor.

My Roma tomatoes are about ready to go out to the garden. I've re-potted the mammoth sunflowers but they need to go out too, they are getting huge. I lost the flat of Alyssum I planted. I'm going to sow those directly. My Habanero peppers are about ready to go outside too. Oh and my Columbine seeds were to old and didn't germinate. Oh well I have a new pack and I just need to get up there and get them sewn into a flat.

nice budz :D
Thank you so much. They turned out better than I expected after all my screw ups.

Here are the latest images. As you can see I've removed my NFT tubes and am replacing it with a 4'x4' table. I'm plumbing it so I can water automatically to make it a little easier. So far the stats on my harvest are:
Total 371 Grams = 13.02 Ounces
which makes for .62 grams/watt.

I've placed all the buds into 1/2 gallon Mason jars so I can slow down the drying. We run about 10% humidity up here so it gets to dry. So I figured jarring them early and leaving them open several hours a day would help them not dry out to much. I don't think those are the final numbers. I think it will drop more as it finishes drying but so far there you go! Oh yes and I did finally smoke some and sadly it's not even close to what collective gardener produces.

Here is grow #2 from me :) As you can see I've followed collective gardener's advice and moved to soilless, specifically Sunshine Mix #4, for this flowering. Here are Aurora Indicas and 2 Cali Connection Pre-98 Bubba Kush BX2. The Bubba's were trimmed below 1 foot about 2 weeks ago and you can see they need a touch up. You can tell the Bubba's because they have their rings around them (great stake for 2 bucks each at WalMart hurrah). No more stealing your neighbor's light! I still need to strip the AI girls and ring them. Then there are my problems in the veg tent. You see I was generous on the clone taking because I assumed I'd lose most of them. Unfortunately, or was it fortunately?, I lost only 2! So now I have many more girls that either need a home or need to be chopped or I suppose I could cut them seriously back. I don't know, we'll see.

Here's round 2 in soilless OH yes and I changed my nutrients for this as well. I'm testing the Dyna Gro line up. I've got Foliage Pro, Bloom, Grow, Pro Tekt (their silicone) and Botanicare's Cal/Mag as well as a sample of Dyna Gro's Cal/Mag. Can't believe no one at the Hydro store I go to wanted to try the Dyna Gro samples so I hit the jackpot! Oh yes and deferred maintenance is my charcoal canister that still needs hung up to get the exhaust off the plant table. I'm also thinking about a light mover. I actually might have parts I could build one from some of the spares I just need to see what spare motors I have lying about and maybe a piece of aluminum.

Looking Awsome Annie! Keep up the great work!
Thank you! I feel so much more together than I did back in October. But man is there a LOT to learn. I'm pretty scared about the soilless but I'm sure you guys can help me get through. I just need to figure out a game plan with my extras. It's also so much easier when they are small and you feel all in control LOL! By the time they are 6' tall and 5' wide you feel far less in control HA

Well done rookie! As I've said, I'd call that a total success. I think you've made the right decision switching to a 4x4 table. That's going to be a way easier system to run. What are you going to use for a grow medium?

Just fyi - The Pro-Tekt is a necessary additive. If you have it you might as well use it I guess, but I wouldn't get more of it when you run out.

What kind of light are you using? I doubt you need a light mover.

Thank you! I felt so proud when it finished that I hadn't killed them. I have tried smoking the dried bud and it gives a headache. I'm hoping the cure fixes that. But I'm not sure.

So far it's not been easier. But that could be a function of scale. I had only 4 in a NFT tube last time. This time I have a 'couple' more. None of which are automatically watered. They are in 2 gallon pots filled with Sunshine Mix #4. Problem is I'm a bit short so I have a hard time reaching from the front to the back of the table. I'm going to need some type of hook. I keep thinking about a shepherd's crook or something akin to what they used on the Gong Show LOL.

Thanks I added the Pro-Tekt and for a light I have a 600 Watt HPS. I'm seriously considering pitching plants. OH oh oh that's hard to do.

A 600w light should give you adequate coverage. Normally I'd do a 1k w light per 4x4, but 600 will work just fine. IMO a light mover is excessive.

Cannabis vs the Mojave Desert grow, my money is on the desert. Today the grow room reached 87 outdoors we are idling around 103-105. This is still mid-spring so the real heat, 110+ is yet to come. I'm figuring I'll see temps around 95-97 under the lights, with no CO2 so I'm not really hopeful.

I am hoping that I'll get genetics to October so I am ready to go into flower. Apparently I failed canopy 101. This is the second iteration of canopy out of control (the difference is all were out of control this time where I allowed 1 plant to dominate the canopy last time).

Here we are after trimming the Nirvana genetics, the Cali Connection Bubbas are tall.

junglebefore.jpgjungleinprocess.jpg

The Nirvana Aurora Indica did not help with my pain. It's actually quite Sativaish and that causes me paranoia. So this won't work. I was thinking could it be just the expression of the genetics on the AI (which I believe it is) or was it my lack of grow knowledge? Worse I took a LOT of clones because I figured I'd lose most. Of course I got almost 100% rooted (I lost 1). I've then neglected them and lost a couple more but I still have WAY more than I need. So do I throw all the Nirvana genetics out? I figured I might as well flower all I could on the tray because I was running the light anyway. Today I decided I was NOT going to do that.

Instead of killing all the Nirvanas I'm going to flower out 1 of each; AI1, AI2, AI3, AI5, and see if that changes anything. I'm going to kill everything except the four AI mothers. So making that decision I had to bring the bubba's down to the same canopy size as the Nirvana's. Here they are after their haircut.

canopy.jpg

This is the table as it will go to flower. Last time I did not control my canopy at all. This time I've decided which 4 arms will be the cola's and that is it. Only 4 colas per plant. I don't want to lose this canopy so I figure I need to allow the 4 branches left to get to about 6" each prior to switch. Is that right? How long should I wait or what is the criteria?

Here is the last of it. I am trying to root the two tops but they were far to large to go into my little cloner. Here are the babies in the cloner.

I am so glad I no longer live in that part of the state. The one thing I will never miss from living in the Mojave is the 110-120 days. Allways so miserable.

You are so right! Further electricity has gotten so insanely priced who can afford air conditioning!

SCE has always been way over priced. You would have thought they would have worked more on the Solar 1-4 projects and with the wind techs over in Tehacheppi (or however you spell that damned town.)

The problem is that we have Palmdale Airport, Edwards AFB, Mojave airport and Fox field up here so there is a huge low traffic issue. We are seeing more and more solar panels and the small 25 foot windmills but none of the big ones that can work for a city. I'm so frustrated with the power issue. Hope you are where you no longer need air conditioning in the summer!

I still need AC, but where I live now has one of the highest rated power companies in the nation :) Makes life alot easier. Last bill, with a flower room, veg room, mother room, and AC running to everything and my bill was 110$ :) Down there it would have cost me prolly 250-300. Kinda sad that SCE stoped all their R&D really. When I was in high school there I got to work at Solar 1. While its ineffecient because of when it was built, the idea should be expanded and redone now. The Mojave is really one big power generator if you look at what nature provides there. I am glad it rarely hits 100 here though but i could do without our humidity.
