Half Sack Zach Outdoor 2012

Hello RIU,
I'm Half Sack Zach and this is my first ever outdoor season. I live in Northern Cali up near the Emerald Triangle. Currently I have 9 valid medical patients with cards I am growing for, which I hope should be more than enough cards to cover this years grow.

I built a greenhouse in my backyard out of rebar, PVC, and a few 2x4s. The whole greenhouse cost me less than $200 to build. The dimensions of it are 10Wide 20Deep and the average height of the greenouse is around 7.5 feet. If anyone is interested in building one of these I pretty much copied this website with a few exceptions:
http://doorgarden.com/10/50-dollar-hoop-house-green-house

I had 12 clones that I have been growing since since February in 7 gallon nursery pots. On April 2nd I transfered them into 65Gallon smart pots and put them in this greenhouse. This a picture from today:

We are currently getting 13 hours of light a day, I am guessing this will make these plants automatically go into flower, if not I am going to start pulling a tarp on them when I get back in town on the 15th to force flower them. The 12 plants above are the following strains:

4 White Label Super Skunk
4 Dinafem Seeds Acid
1 Unknown Alieg Dog from a Club in San Diego
1 Unknown Blueberry from a Club in San Diego
1 Unknown Cali Kush thats apparently from Cali connection seeds, but I havent been able to find this strain.
1 Unknown could be anything.

I am hoping to get a nice harvest in early june and by then have 12 more monsters ready for the light deprivation.

Aside from that I have a whole bunch of seedlings that are now 2 days old.

germinated april 7th.jpg

The two that are actually bigger than a quarter in the picture are an unknown Jack Herer and an unknown Cherry Kush, I got them for free from a friend and just threw them in pots and put them on the side, they are second class citizens to the rest I have popped from seed. Which includes:

8 TGA Subcool Seeds Vortex
8 TGA Subcool Seeds Jilly Bean
8 TGA Subcool Seeds Agent Orange
4 Greenhouse Seeds Lemon Skunk
7 Mandala Seeds Hashberry
1 Autflowering Critical... (this is the one in the big pot, I thought it would be fun to try an autoflowering)

Anyhow feel free to post questions/ comments, and lets get to growing!

I am pulling the tarp at 7pm and taking back off at 8am every day. I just started pulling the tarp yesterday april 21, so I gave the girls nearly three weeks to settle in and I am hoping to have them pulled by the end of june and then I can toss in 12 more monsters.

Heres a picture from today taken at about 6pm:

and then my seedlings ive got indoors still under a 600w mh, soon ill move em into 1000w metal halide, i foolishly started these seedlings in Roots Organics Soil which is too hot for starter, so a few were burned and are now looking healthy but nonetheless must have stunted growth that early on. heres a picture of the lot:

Everything looks sick!

Menas: might want more than 5 gallons. 7 or 10 gallons would probably be sufficient. I've already experience rootbounding a plant in a 5 gallon.... and that was indoors hehe.

I transplanted from 7gallon buckets into the 65 gallon buckets, and as you can see some of the plants are bigger than others, so they were all varying levels of root thickness. For the most part they really weren't too rootbound at all.

When they were in 7 gallon buckets I was using just roots organics soil and feeding with water... after a little fading i hit them with a bit of organic nutes and they greened back up. The 65g pots are filled 1/3 with Super Soil, and the girls seem to be loving it. I will post a pic of the brands I used to make the SS, but it is basically subcools recipe except I couldn't find BioBizz in my town so I just used 8 bags of roots organics.

heres some wisdom from the man himself on transplanting:

"It's very important to not procrastinate when it is time to transplant out of these smaller containers. If you get lazy and let your small plants sit around in their starter containers, it will slow the transition process after transplanting. I have seen first hand the huge difference when I gave some clones to a card holder. The day I transplanted I had 4 extra clones that I passed to him. Instead of transplanting right away he waited until they were root bound and looking poorly. I was able to harvest 30 days before him and the quality and quantity difference was hard to believe. My method is not for the lazy or procrastinating type; the more on top of each technique you become, the better each harvest will become as well."

haha yeah I'm with sine on this one, unless you got someone limiting you I would definitely use 20galloners minimum for outdoor, especially if your planning on starting soon, its still april!

These were taken a few days ago I forgot to upload them:

The closeup shot is one of the Acid- looks like its starting to get sticky.

I also topped all of my other plants the other day using Uncle Bens technique- Thanks Uncle Ben!

They look awesome, forming multiple heads I can see how doing this creates larger yields... check out one of the jilly beans after topping:

Great to have ya weednerd- I'll post a pic of that Alien Dog when I get a chance, I'm pretty sure my buddy said it was a Cali Connection seed.

OK I keep showing this same strain off but it just keeps getting frostier! I think I will have to chop this baby in a few days, this is paradise seeds acid, I got this single seed as a freebie. I ran it indoor and took 4 clones because i like the way it grew: i did not at all expect to love this strain so much, but now I have 4 monsters of it that smell unbelieveable and I wish I would have taken a few more clones!

Thanks for the thread on mainlining Nugbuckets! I think the term "mainlining" is going to stick atleast around RIU, maybe you should have called it "Nugbucketing"
