Is this bud mold

I recently harvested my plant, and hung it up to dry in the back laundry room. The room has occasional traffic, so I wrapped each cola lightly in a single layer of newspaper to shield out light. I just grabbed them to trim em and can em and found that the fattest colas have a white fuzzy cottonball looking thing throughout the center of it. The bud smells fine though. I can't get any good pics of it. Also the buds seem to have turned a bit of a golden brown. Can I still smoke this? Can I make hash with it? Or is this all now going to be wasted?

check the stem where the fuzzy stuff is. is it mushy and discolored? then yes, it's mold.

I cut into the bud. This is the middle. It looks like cotton, or dryer lint. The stem here is solid though. The further I cut now, the worse it gets. Did this happen while I was growing it or while it was drying? Should I assume the entire plant, even the skimpier buds, is moldy? Thanks for the fast responses.

no, you all know I had my bud wrapped up in a chicago reader page. you assume im in the chicago area.

make brownies out of them. just try to cut away the moldy stuff then grind and bake them in some brownies or cookies. don't smoke that shit though...bad bad bad!

make bho. i would not want to eat an edible made with those "buds" a chemical extraction would be the only way i would even think of using that.

thats a real shame man after months of effort. i think that wrapping newspaper has restricted airflow through the buds when drying thus mold has thrived in a micro-climate. Gutted:wall:

Throw them in the bin and be done with it. Next grow make sure you run large osc fan(s) 24/7, if you have a dehumidifier run that every 15 mins on continuous flow.(bypass the catchtank)
