where to get the best price on big daddy hoods

biggest air sealed hood i've seen is the big daddy at a whopping 3'x3'. They're about $220 on htg http://htgsupply.com/Product-Big-Daddy-Reflector.asp for me with shipping its almost $290 total. anyone know of anywhere cheaper on the net? i cant seem to find any on ebay. i use the king kobras which are 42.75''x30''. im thinking of switching to the big daddys because not only are they 13.5in² more, but they are square so i was thinking of doing 4-6 of those with 1000ws. since they're square i was gonna do one big plant per hood. then around it where light is not hitting the plant, i will put a dwarf strain i always have clones of so no light is being wasted. can anyone find a better price for the big daddys? i already have ballasts and bulbs. im only interested in the big daddys unless someone can find something bigger. if something bigger is found it has to be air sealed and at least 8 inch ports. the big daddy is 1296in² the king kobra predator series which i currently use are only 1282.5²

it probably is but it would be more squarish coverage compared to rectangular coverage. im also the type that whenever i find out something new is better or at least i think is better, even if it be minimal, i like to piss money on it. i need new hoods for my next setup at my new place anyway. if there were anything even bigger than the big daddy that would be great.

Not sure on that one. The Raptors are nice but you loose penetration for area spread with these. Panabolic umbrellas are actually a bit bigger and offer better mix of area and penetration

damn that thing is huge. 7' diameter lol. i actually want air cooled hoods. i like being able to have my plants touch my glass without burning. thats why i use 600s for now. but with the 1000ws and ice boxes run by probably a 1 ton chiller should do fine. i want to put the hoods close together. like right next to each other touching. no light movers. just a lot of lights compact.

i was thinking about trying this one out i seen in high times. it has either 1 or 2 side t8s but they're actually UV to use in the last couple weeks of flowering. UV only comes in t8. supposed to increase potency. http://www.californialightworks.com/SF_Holiday.htm otherwise maybe a plasma. supposed to be the best quality lighting. the green spectrum is a waste but oh well. i dont know anyone personally who uses plasmas but i have a couple friends that run decent size setups using over 3600w in hid lighting. they tested out those newer leds and were not satisfied. they also grow pretty big plants though so i can image the lower parts of the plants sucked. thats the big problem with them is no light penetration. that penetration among other things is so important when growing giant dense heavy indoor buds. might work good if you did lst though as far as producing. im actually thinking leds may just be better for supplemental lighting. be cool to have led lighting on a wall. the thing with HID lighting is a lot of people are afraid of high electric bills. it totally pays for itself though. any special wiring is actually easy to learn how to do. although i usually pay people to do it for me out of convenience.
