i dont have access to fancy equipment and the soil i have availible is truly awful!! cant get decent potting soil or anything good like that. but i do have access to fibreglass insulation so is the the same as rockwool? i mean can i use it with freashly germanated seeds? ive been having problems getting my seeds to sprout and thought this may be a viable option. if you want the back story follow this link :-

Why not make a compost to blend with the soil. Or go hydro. You could order soil on the Web. Sterilize your current soil and fix what's wrong.

i do recall a thread at this part of the world where there were some visiting growers with the same problem
can't recall the specifics but it is possible to get the soil you need, just not an easy thing, i'll see if i can't dig up some specifics
as far as fiberglass, you'd think that might be a long shot

edit - thought i had remembered some good soils from this part of the world in another thread - seems it's easier to buy weed than find good soil, tough stuff to find apparently in this area - maybe an investigation into DIY hydro would be your best bet

i did just edit my last post, but i seem to have verified your point - good soil is a bitch to find there for indoor
just repeat what i posted, DIY hydro might be the best best

ok, i did finally find a post on this, can't vouch for it, just one of those interesting threads that caught my attention

soil mix - about 40% riverbed soil 20% burned rice husk 20% ricehusk and 20% coco coir.

maybe a starting point if nothing else

fiberglass insulation has chemicals added to make it more thermal resistant, very very bad idea. gravel and sand thats your best bet. cheap and its everywhere.

you could sterilze the soil and get a worm farm going if your near the jungle you are in one of the best places to make a custom soil mixture from some of the best ingredients in the world, coconuts are everywhere so im sure there is coir somewhere.

Sounds like something I said before. Anyway.... Yeah. Fix what you got its not hard and it's quick and easy not to mention cheap.
