Adanced Nutrients. - Are they as good as they say they are?

Hello,

Ive seen some videos claiming large yields due to the fact that their nutes are dialed in specifically for growing pot.
Is this true? Please keep it constructive and helpful.

FYI : I currently mainly use Biobizz Nutrients and grow in a room under a mix of KESSIL LEDs and VHO T5s.

Personally I don't get sapped into the marketing hype, I'll buy stuff to try and then give an honest opinion... AN nutes tend to have a lot of micro nutrients in them which is probably one of the only things they have over other nute lines, I can't attest to results at the moment because I've only just started using the AN Jungle Juice range (3 part feed) with big bud powder, in my hydro system, so far so good, still in veg atm

But then most of the nutrient companies hype up their product... I've gotten 3 oz off a half burnt plant using crappy £2 tomato feed and miracle grow and am currently using Canna Terra Flores, which is looking good but tends to cause a bit of lock out so they need regular heavy waters between feeding, seems to sort it out.

Your going to get so many haters on AN saying no they're shite and a few saying yeah its great, but all you can really suggest is try it for yourself and see. Just don't blow £50 on a bottle of Bud Candy if your not sure about the company, go with some of their cheaper ranges with a basic lineup and see how it does. I use AN Jungle Juice, Big Bud and am getting some Overdrive, I figure if you have a good base line then have a stimulant for each 3 weeks of flower (Big bud weeks 3-6, Overdrive weeks 6-8 ) it should work very effectively.

Take what you want from this but again if your not sure try a cheaper AN line and see

I use AN Ph Perect, 3 part. - apx $50 (total) for 3, 1L bottles

and the "Hobbist Bigger Yield" - $150 to $200 for 4 1l bottles.
It gets cheaper if you buy the 4l bottles instead.



I like it, it's pretty much idiot proof.

i agree with the statements above.no need to get their entire lineup but their base nutes and some of their additives are well worth it. i use sensi grow a & b and connoisseur a & b. will probably go back to sensi bloom a & b after i run out of connoisseur as it is half the price and connoisseur is slightly better but maybe not worth the extra money. depending on whether you are in soil or hydro determines the additives i would recommend.

some of us would rather buy synthetic; especially when growing hydro. personal preference. not everyone has to use the same thing.

I had good results with Advanced Nutrients Organic line as far as yields go, but was rather disappointed when I found out that none of it is actually Organic except for the Voodoo Juice. When I discovered this I contacted greners.com where I had ordered the full line from and told them why I wasn't satisfied and that I wanted to return the products for the full refund as AN offers. Greners instructed me to ship all the products back to them (at a cost of $70 to myself) and that they'd ship them to AN and I'd have a refund shortly. That was about 9 months ago lol. And it was at least $900 in products that were sent back. Greners says there's nothing they can do and AN won't get back to me lol.

So while it's up for debate how good there products are compared to other products, what I CAN tell you for sure, is that they are an extremely shady company. They lie on there bottles, they lie to their customers (and steal apparently), and they obviously spend most of their time and money on advertising and bottle artwork which also gets reflected back to the customer on the price tag.

So will AN give you big yields? Probably as long as you have things dialed in. But can you achieve the same results for much less money and end up with a superior product? Probably as well.

Yea it was pretty much the full organic line, 1 gallons mostly. I had spent about $1600, but I was honestly only disappointed in the base nutes, teas, bud candy, and a few other things. The voodoo juice was great, but WAAY over priced.

And most of the containers were over half full. You know what's funny is of course I thought about pouring out most of them into other bottles before sending them back to get free nutes lol, but then I thought you know what...all I want is a refund, and I don't wanna take the chance they don't refund me because of it. So I spent the $70 in shipping to ship that heavy ass box back to greners lol. And yea, I woulda thought that greners would have gave me store credit. I woulda been satisfied with that. Especially after it had been months...

But still, I can't knock them on the yields. I got good yields with AN. But I'm only getting like 5% less on my yields now and spending 3 times less on nutes that grow better tasting medicine.

you spent 19 grand on advanced whaaat? that would last you like 294283 years with a 600w.

i run the connoisseur, im happy with it. There prices are outrageous no doubt, and there customer service would be a whole lot better if they had people that knew what they were talking about. as far as the refund.. i kinda figured that was too good to be true.

you just gota find out which additives are good and which are bullshit. I got rid of the rhynoskin and replaced it with dynagrow protekt.. going to pull the bud candy out and replace it with a different sweetner when i run out.. little shit like that.

also i notice you dont need to put half as much as it says on the bottle.. it calls for 2mls per liter with all additives.. i only run about 3mls a gallon, so it lasts quite a bit. overdrive doesnt do jack in my opinion

the ph perfect is wak. probably saves you some time i would imagine.. but who the fuck wants to use 16mls a gallon. it would cost me like 500 bucks in a&b for a run to do that haha.

haha! lmao. not $19k on nutes. new lights, bulbs, tents, nutes, soil, hydro setup, ice boxes, fans, hoods, everything. changing from 2 8x8 tents to 3 4x8 tents. gonna run 2 flower tents on a flip.

i only have 1 600w going right now cause i'm flowering those 4 plants before i take everything down. holding up a bunch of plants in veg right now till this crop is done and i can switch everything out and install the new chiller. also got a new 3hp chiller and selling my old 2hp to a buddy. not really old cause i've only used it since january.

i run connoisseur too. i never follow the their dosages though. i use their ratios for each week of the cycle but usually use about half their recommended dosages. i have it pretty dialed in now. i always mix nutes to ppm levels. using half the dosage usually gets me just below the ppm level i want. then i add cal/mag to make up the difference. any nutrient companies recommended dosages are WAY too high. always start off with half.

Like I said in my intro. I currently use Biobizz, which is expensive to begin with. I like an organic base. But I also add in hygrozyme, budswell, purplemaxx, bushmaster, gravity, hydroplex, open sesame, beastie bloomz, and cha ching, at different rates and different phases.

Im looking to simplify and add yield. It sounds like AN could do this for me. I am still confused on which products to use of theirs. Can anyone explain the difference and effectiveness of the various products? Like someone had said about using Protect over Rhinoskin...etc.

The Protekt is a Dyna-Gro product, it was just another example that for every Advance Nutrients product, there is a product for less $$$ that is either better or just as good.

Not only does Rhino Skin cost almost twice as much per liter as Protekt...but you have to use 4 TIMES as much of it. Protekt is 2ml per gallon and Rhino Skin is 8ml per gallon. I use Dyna-Gro Protekt, it's awesome stuff.

When I was using AN I was getting about 400-450 grams per meter. AN may increase your yield from what you are at now (after you dial in the products which could take a grow or two) but it will cost you LITERALLY at least 2 or 3 times what you are spending right now and you will be mad at yourself in the future. Like I said before, I still get about the same yield with better products, spend waaay less, and have healthier better tasting pot and food.

But since you asked what you should use, I'll answer your question. But I'm going to leave a suitable alternative for you next to them as well that would be cheaper and probably better..This is what I used that I wasn't ENTIRELY unhappy with.

Iguana juice - Grow and Bloom (GO Grow and Bloom or Bio Canna Vega and Flores)

Nirvana (Seems like a compost tea will accomplish most of what this does. Also, GO Bio Bud or Bio Canna Bio Boost)

Organic B (Thrive Alive)

SensiZym (Hygrozyme_

VooDoo Juice (GO Bio Root)

F1 and H1 (GO Diamond Black)

Bud Ignitor (A lot of nute companies have a product that speeds up flowering a little. This product actually works, but is expensive. But the gallon if you decide to use it.)

IMO you need to do a side by side run with the bites you want versus the one your using. Ive been growing with general hydro for years, but just recently starte lookin into sensi bloom(an product) and I'm doing a side by side, my bugs on the gh are about 1/4 sized smaller. Looks like I'll be pulling a couple extra zones off the sensi bloom compared to the regular line up. I'm in the middle of the side by side right now if you wanna check it out. I've noticed one key thing though. An keeps the plants more greener and vibrant with less additives/nutes.

I almost pulleed the trigger for A & N but couldn't get past the price.

I have been using DM Gold with excellent results, but since I have an excellent RO I have been looking to replace liquid nutes with a dry mix formulated for mj. Found this on a RIU thread. I have a sample of this coming http://www.hydroponic-research.com/

The photo is a comparison grow; HPA v my 21st Century Flood & Drain. Don't dwell on the hpa (left) being much smaller and droopy. I have been dialing in misting coverage (had to add another mist head). Plants have perked up very nicely since this photo was taken.

The PHAT girls on the right were fed < 400 in veg (actually both got the exact same nutes); now 2nd week of flower ~ 650ppms.

I'm gonna experiment with the dry nutes in my clone chamber as I have a near full 5L of DM ONE Grow to use up, and that will take awhile. I may follow up with a nute comparison

Well I am from the other school. AN is a superior product srecifically for cannabis. The rub with AN is that you really need to understand what is what and what your girls want. They offer product for all case senerio's.

The hobbiest and the head don't do the required "schooling" to endevor down the path of enlightenment. They spend all that money and get fucked around by a saleman (who knows nothing also) and end up with bad results.

AN is not for you if all you want is smoke. Their products are very simple to understand if you are willing. I have set up a number of novice growers with their 3 part systems and a bottle of sensizym and their results were just short of amazing.

As for customer service, they have been steller with me any time I have had questions. I have never had a bad product either.

I have grown now for over 20 yrs and used every product that I thought would give me an advantage. I used GH for almost 10 yrs until AN appeared. My quality and quantity will not allow me to use anything else now.

IMO if quality and quantity are what you are looking for, AN can give you that but really...knowledge is key
