Long time smoker - new grower

New to the forum, as in the title been smoking for about 20 years. Bought a house a couple of years ago with a tomato greenhouse(4x6) and decide to throw 4 indica clones from a known producer in for the summer and hopefully get through the winter on my own bud. The girls are at about 6 weeks right now with about 16-17 hours between sunrise and sunset. I want to keep them at about 4 feet tall, they are about 24 inches now. From what I have read conventional topping will help control the height, can i do the other stems as well to encourage heavier buds, or will the top topping take care of 'thickening' the rest of the bush. I usually grow insane tomatoes(i had 12 footers last year), I know how to encourage and stretch a plant but I need some advice on keeping these ones short and inconspicuous and fat as hell with bud.

Try Super cropping... It is where you take the stem and roll it between your fingers and bend it in an elbow shape and in a few days it will heal itself up and stay in that elbow shape and actually increase your bud size and amount at harvest time... You will need to keep doing this to keep them short and bushy with lots of buds... Or you can simply put a mesh top over the plants which will only allow them to grow as tall as you want...

Inside the green house, are you growing them in the ground or in containers? Indica's normally average 4'-5' and some only grow three feet. So you might not even need to top. And to answer your question, yes if you cut the top or any branch for that matter, the other branches will compensate so you still end up with roughly the same yield.

They are planted in soil. Thanks for the confirmation on the topping, i only ask because the plants have taken off since transplanting 2 weeks ago, about 6 inches of new growth, Just wanted to make sure i could keep these girls under control.

Those will probably reveg for the OP. Give them a high dose of nitrogen the next few feedings. good Luck

Thanks for the advice guys. Will hit them with the nitrogen. What will happen to the existing buds? If I top all the main budded stalks coming from the main stem will this also encourage the veg or is it in danger of shocking the plant too much? There is budding occurring on the tops of almost all of the stalks from the main.
