Fuck Me Standing In A Deep Fryer!

Recently my camera pooped out on me. It was an old panasonic palm cam that used (are you ready for it?), floppy discs. Shut up. It was working just fine for me. I did have to use a magnifying glass to get my "macros". But it worked, so, what the hell?

Well, it died. I had a little ceremony in the back yard. There were tears.

I decided to purchase a new one. Only this time. No floppies. I bought a Canon Rebel T3 EOS 1100D. Are you impressed? Me too. I have no idea what that even means. I ordered it through Amazon and it came with an EF-5 18-55 IS II. From what I can gather it's a lens. Are you starting to grasp my level of digital camera knowledge? Which is none.

I ordered it on the 20th of May. The sun was shining. Flowers were blooming. Allergies were raping and pillaging my sinuses. 3-5 business days said the shipping choice. Virgin that I was, I chose 3-5 shipping days. Ten days later and with numerous calling and complaining hours logged, it came today.

Shaking with anticipation I unboxed the beautiful shining spanking new Canon Rebel T3 EOS 1100D and held it up to the light. I did a re-enactment of the Lion King:

My niece commented on my pose, "boys are stupid." I took away her soda. I had to cut her off. The sugar was making her belligerent. It was self defense. I stood my ground, damn it! How old is she? ::cough::ten::cough:: I would never reveal a lady's age. Even if she's only ten.

Where was I? Oh yeah, the camera.

I had to charge the battery which took about two hours. The waiting was killing me.

Finally, FINALLY the little charging light turned green. I can use the camera! All is well with the world. I pirouetted outside and began taking picture after picture. I was envisioning masterpieces and prize winning panoramas of color and light. It was magical.

It was getting dark so I ran inside to download the pics. I wanted to try the new editing program that came with the camera. I inserted the computer/camera connectors and.......

NO CARD IN CAMERA

After several minutes of googling and cursing I found out that most SLR digital cameras don't come with a memory card. The manufacturer assumes you know enough about cameras to choose your own memory card.

I cried.

You know. The state policeman that was doing the report on my automobile accident said the same thing about my now deceased Nissan. He was amazed at the pristine condition of the car. I didn't even have a dent in my baby. ::sniffle:: I loved that car. Some dumb shit pulled out in front of me and I t-boned his sorry ass. I miss you Clarice! :: pouring out tequila in her honor::

so did you get a card yet , or can the camera save like 1 or 2 pics?

did you use the macro setting for that pic? if not then you can make that picture 3x as beautiful(no homo).

No macro and lots of homo. I scavenged a card from a cheaper point and shoot camera. Meanwhile, I ordered a 32 gig memory card. This one is a 4 gig. As far as macro goes? I'm lucky to have figured out how to turn it on. Guess how I did it? It has a button that says On/Off. Yay me!

I feel you bro, up until a year ago I was using an old Kodak digital. It was so old that when my last laptop died, Kodak didn't even provide the software any longer. Camera works great too!
So when I bought my new canon digital I,
1 bought it from BestBuys
2 bought it at lunch & told them I would be back after work & they could show me how to operate it.
3 #2 made them sell me a card!lol!
Good luck, I'm sure your gonna love it!

32 gig is a lot, more for HD video capture... I use an 8gb or 16gb card and it will take like 3,000 pics at 12megapixels before it runs out of space

With respect SLR cameras pictures take up much more space them regular digital cameras. You may have 12 megapixels but you are limited to a 1600x1200 where a SLR can have up to 4064x2704 resolution. Its just a larger lens

a friend taught me to take good "macro" pictures
if you can, use daylight and just lift the object(bud) in front of the cam
then put your hand behind the object(bud) and slightly press the shutter so it auto focuses
then calmly withdraw your hand then press the shutter properly
basically the hand helps the camera lock in on the focus distance
you can also put your hand, press the shutter slightly then swap your hand for the object and click!

i took this with a shitty camera and it looks alright i think, yours should kick some ass

its a blueberry blossoming btw

you should post a link with a full size high resolution picture of an object. you know what object i'm talking about.
