Opinions wanted check it out or thoughts

So its my second grow and I started 36 seedlings in a incubator from wal-mart, all 36 sprouted so I moved 15 of them to pots with a 50/50 mix of potting soil and vermiculite that’s all I had room for in my container that I use to keep my lil garden in to protect the flooring of my grow room. So on may 5[SUP]th[/SUP] I moved them.


Then 10 days later I moved 6 plants from the incubator which I was still caring for the seedlings to this point, 3 in one pot and 3 in the other pot, 2 pots 6 plants. One kiddie pool one submersible pump and a few feet of nylon rope later I got this. (photo #1)Taken may 22nd one week after I started the 6 in the kiddie pool I deleted my pics of first week after the transplant.


Ok the original 15 transferred on the 5[SUP]th of may[/SUP]

So in picture #1, one week after I started the 6 in the pool, which was 10 days after the original 15, at this one week mark the 6 have already caught up to the original 15.

Picture # 2 was taken May 29[SUP]th[/SUP] seven days after pic # 1, at this point the six have completely surpassed the original 15.
Picture # 3 & # 4 are the seven day pics of the stem of one of the 6 plants in the wick system.taken the 22nd and then on the 29th.

The wick system is self watering, I have not watered them other than a foliar feeding twice which the 15 original received also. Same nutes, same potting mixture, the only thing different is the original 15 are hand watered twice a week when my moisture meter reads dry enough.

so the kiddie pool a hydro set up next to a soil set up right??which do you prefer to run? ive never done hydro personally, im kind of afraid of the new waters lol no pun intended

Well I think that the wick system is classified as a hydro yes. But I’m using potting soil and my water in the kiddie pool is just that, water. I would say that I’m growing in soil because that is where my nutrition is at. I just maintain my water temp & ph . And the potting mix has nutes in it with a lil granular mixed in as well.

I was just kinda pointing out the rate of growth over the hand and meter watering verses this self watering system.

Well I’m pretty sure all my future gardens will be wick systems , and its only my second attempt at growing in containers and about three weeks in with the wick system other than research on the subjects. So no preferred method here.

haha me too....i posted a thread yesterday about taking a drug test and it got like 8 pages in one day....i was like hey i love how my smoke report thats been on here for years has gotten less hits than my post about a drug test lol...i figured out the key to getting action on your threads is the title, dont put what it really is intrigue ppl, for my dt post i put - we've all been here gimme your best advice, and ppl clicked it cuz they were curious!!

also dont forget to put tags at the bottom when you make the post, their is a slot for it you an add up to 5

Thx good advice i actually posted this thread twice with only different titles one got a few and the other none
