leafs starting to pray

k i got 3 nice big plants and above them each has one 54 wat light that is about two feet away or maybe a little closer and they are starting to pray how can i fix this .
and do you no where i can get nice mh hps and clf lights with high wattage for cheap and the stuff to plug it in

I got my HPS at hydroponics.net they have far prices I usally buy all my gro stuff there, but im in the middle of no where so yea... um the Cfl, you can buy at wal*mart or someplace like that and just get a normal lamp to pluge them into..

you need more lights guy. The leafs are stretching up to the light. You really want at least a couple hundred watts per plant.. Im a newb but thats what I gather..

What type of light is it? is it just a normal bulb or is it a Cfl? Yea more light is the key!! I would say for the three plants youll need at least 50,000 lumens to get decent buds.. a 400 watt HPS ( high pressure sodium bulb) will do the trick.. Light is the key to growing indoors

Wrong, that means your plant is recieving optimal conditions, grabbing the light and funneling down to all the other leaves in that cone or praying shape you say.

Just keep everything like it is, if anything goes bad then change, this is a good sign.

i have a 400w mh ballast reflector and bulb. all wired up all you gotta do is plug it in . let me know if your interested. and yes i am advertising to help a fellow grower. got pics .

Yo, I dont mean to bash you, or him, but he's got 3- 54 watt bulbs, thats not enough light to grow buds bigger then a dime bag, even with 3 plants.. Im sorry but light is the key to growing buds.. there reaching up wards beacuse they want more light, not because they are happy.

you got it spot on! but lumens not watts are the key.. 1,000 watt is about 180,000 lumens i believe. my 400 watt is 50,000.. the more lumens the bigger buds.. a 60 watt Cfl has about 260 lumens. and three 60 watt cfls is only about 280 lumen
lumens dont add up like watts do.. so I would suguest a HPS bulb

Im going to go check my set up right now and see how many lumens Im working with.. Ill update my journal with the info. Can I take a look at my grow journal and tell me if Im on the right track? I think I need more lights.. just a little strapped for cash.

also, you should get the lights a LOT closer to the plants. If you are using CFLs you can get them almost touching without burning.. just get a fan going.
