Glowpanel 45

Howdy folks,

I recently found a set of 8 glow panel 45's for 300 bucks total. I'm going to buy them and will be posting a grow journal using them on their own as in addition to CFL's in seperate grows.

Anyone who has experience with them let me know, I realise they are not the most powerful but I plan on circumventing that if I can.

You will like this panel. I use it to germinate strong seedlings and to provide supplemental light. I have no doubt that 8 of them together will grow 2 nice sized plants.

Thanks for the quick reply, I originally was going to get one for 50 dollars but then he said he had eight total so I jumped on it.

No prob. i think the actual draw is 28w. The units have a port that allows them to be daisy chained. You are getting a great deal, @ $37.50 each you cant go wrong

This light was my first foray into the LED market. You will not be disappointed. A few suggestions though. 1. This panel can be placed quite closely to your plants ~2-4" away is great 2. Mounting them on the wall only slightly angled down will provide amazing supplemental light. 3. Use with round light (CFL, EFDL, Fluourescent) at a 1:1 ratio of wattage for superb results (in flowering)

If you combine four panels on the wall for side light it is about 112 watts, with an additional 80-100 watts of CFL during flowering you can grow individual plants amazingly, my suggestion would be to build two grow areas slightly differently and find out which strains grow well in which lighting situation. Good luck with your many growing adventures!
Sincerely,

Awesome reply, thank you man. I do plan on using a few different setups, possibly having two for veg and creating an array that allows me six for flowering. Either way, I plan to maximize the proximity by using LST.

I have one. It's good for growing herbs, or grass for juicing, but not for smoking. Check out ledgrow.eu ($250). PSUAgro has a thread here. Title iis something like Han's panel...

oh damn that sucks. They're not 45W or 28W like they're advertised. If you plug one of those panels into a meter it will show that it draws less than 10W from the wall (my panel was a little over 8W).

The lights are decent lights for bonzai mother plants, clones, and early veg but that's about it. They're horrible for flowering.
