it's a cheap diy box nothing special but it's good not to spend loads of money on a seedling box!

Thanks for stopping by, more pics about MEVeg:

This is it lights off, driver is glued on the side with thermally conductive glue (chinese stuff it works well for this purpose)

Still using the aluminum rectangular tube, it is than attached to the box lid

Seems very promising (gotta love Osram LEDs) but it seems I can't see the pictures, could you rehost them somewhere else ? Thanks!

Hey Jubiare why don't you use RIU's pic uploader/ works for me except through pm's , don't know why.........I know it's not the safest route, but it does work.....good luck

Diatomaceous Earth is all natural and non toxic to us, but deadly to mites/bugs- I use it to kill roaches and ants

I understand that you used what was on hand, however, (and this according to The Lurker) during veg you want more 615-630

and during flower add 660 in ~ 4:1 ratio
where 660 is the one

pet ... I understand your excitement with led tech and led drama

but coming on here to tell me what ratio is best

when you don't even use leds at all as source of light

sorry but can u avoid going around sites doing that? Unless what u say is really really proved, if not by you, by some concrete evidence .......

If u stop by only to teach, when u don't even use leds or diy leds

ok am gonna tell u something here

mj is not very demanding in veg

in fact many panels do amazing in veg and won't flower well

that is a statement that can be easily passed over

if i was to say that i know and have the best veg ratio for veg that would be bollocks do you follow?

Here is what a grower is doing with only 660nm, 5600k and deep blue (osram) it's not the same as my spectrum but just to say

Sorry you misunderstood me. As I stated, the 660 info came from a knowledgeable source (UN: The Lurker)

Not sure where you got the idea I don't use leds. I have a UFO 90 that I bought 3 years ago from Sunshine Systems. I have used it for full grows (with cfl supplements) and for vegging seedlings & clones, where this light shines. Using it right now + cfls to finish a clone

Are we good?

Just use T5 in the main grow area which is 2 X 4. It would cost a small fortune to cover that with leds of comparable flexibility and flowering spectrums, but the prices are dropping rapidly, while efficiency is increasing, and spectral blends are improving thanks to DIYers like you.

As you know, a few mfgs are now introducing dimmable drivers (+ drivers that can run 3 panels), others have 3 o/o switches; one for seedlings, one for veg and another for flower, plus a few have a much better understanding of the importance of
500-600nm spectrums, as well as when best to use certain spectrums, and in what ratios. However, all this comes at a price that I personally am not prepared to spend compared to the total flexibility I have with HO T5s covering a 2 X 4 area.

When my UFO craps out I would def consider another LED fixture primarily for vegging/cloning. My short list today includes; new series EVO, Hans panel, or a solderless kit from RapidLED.

These weren't even available 2 short years ago
. So I think you now understand I am by no means a hater, just particular. If $$$ was no object I would buy all three just to play around.

So we're good?

don't be too concerned about soldering, with the pre-soldered kits you spend much more than just doing it yourself (it's already high price that way), everyone can solder really, I am yet to hear about a diyer that has given up because he couldn't solder ;) ;)

Yeah Hans panels or new Evo sounds a very valid option!

Nothing against you, yes we are good ... it's just the way you put that info in that sounded some harsh, besides I am well pissed off with my flower chamber that doesn't seem to recover and I have tried everything. Am trying a few last things than I will update

:peace:

am holding on to it coz am not seeing substantial improvements thus nothing nice to take pics of ...

trying everything, last few moves today ... I'll update in a few days with details on what I have done to bring them back, they are better or not, I will update. (and just sprouted little ones pics, under meVEG). thanks

ever grown in supersoil jubiaire? no headache, and very reliable for an experiment like yours I like to think

Thanks endur0x, no I have never tried that ... did a few soil grows than swapped to coco! I like the idea of organic matter, supersoil sounds super

Nice thread, I love DIY LEDs lamps! I built one with 660nm reds, warm whites and royal blues, all Osram @ 700mA. Except I didn't use the stars to mount, I used thermal pads.

Can't wait to see pictures, hope the ladies are doing ok!

Here things are not too bad, one hasn't showed up yet .. don't know what she decides to do, it's up to her really?
IMG_20120607_222951.jpg

Bendy? Don't know what's wrong with her, can't recall any apparent reason.. poor little one, let's see what's up with her
IMG_20120607_223003.jpg

you see the one on the right, has been yellower since the beginning, again, don't know why as far as I can tell
IMG_20120607_223021.jpg

IMG_20120607_223028.jpg

all in all, I think they could be a little faster than this? If I think of my last run (best vegging looking girls ever, turning up to be my worst grow ever), they were faster at this stage? they were under cfl's .....

They are still partially under the propagator lid (switched off), I don't feel like removing it just yet

Guys, what do you say about seedling under LED?

Tomo we'll see and talk a bit about the flowering ones, bad news anyway

Cheers folks
