the cloning is going much better now, for the record. and the thread was me venting. hence the title "i suck and i'm venting".

i've always had my best success in cloning when i let things dry out between waterings. the plant will send out roots to search for water. same logic behind letting your soil dry between waterings.

Make sure you never foliar spray your clones.
That's why you were needing advice right ? That is the most stupidest thing I have heard regarding clones. You should not let them dry out. Have you ever seen an EZ Cloner ? How about a bubble cloner ? Until they have a bonifide root system you should not let them dry out. I can root a cutting in a glass of water, but I guess I have a green thumb and common sense which you cleary lack.

When using soil cubes to clone, I ALWAYS let the cube dry out a little while misting the clones w/ plain water. I believe it promotes it to root faster, not completely light brown dry but not soaking wet 24/7.
I also cut 1/2 off the leaves and tips of the clone, I find it roots faster for me. I can get roots in 8 days using soil cubes this way, if I were to keep the clones uncut, and wet constantly it would take 2-3 wks for them to wanna pop roots.

I agree with that about soil. We were talking about 100% perlite and as fast as that stuff drains you had better water it often. I water my "micro hempies" every 12 hours and get roots about the same time as you. I leave 1 leaf and the growing tip, but I leave them uncut...

this is what i'm talking about. i'm using those little cubes now instead of perlite and i let them get a little dry before dotting them again.
2 weeks to root is an improvement, but i'm still nowhere near you 8 day cloners.
