Drying-curing idea with rice

ok have you ever seen folks put rice inside their salt shaker? well they do it to pull any moister from the saly so it doesn't clump up and stop up the holes in the top of the shaker. ... ... . Now i wonder if you put ur buds into a jar, lid not on all the way, with a small amount of rice would it work drying or curing? it seems it wouldn't mess up the smell any so why not give it a try ?

lol, yeah I'm sure it'll work. All your looking to do is to dry the buds slowly so it has time to cure. Whether it's in a glass jar and you burp it, store it in a wooden box, or you put it paper bag filled with rice, it's all going to accomplish the same thing. Again, just focus on curing/drying slowly and you should be fine.

well i just checked my stuff.... it may work but it isnt worth the try, the rice sticks to the buds like glue.

Solution to that is either put something such as paper towel or piece of cardboard to create a layer in between your rice and bud....one method i try is i take two paper bags, fill up one with about a good layer of salt or rice (both will absorb) then i pop next bag containing the nugs in that one, foldover/staple close and store in a large ziploc overnight and most of the day (that way odours contaminating and over drying wont happen).

Thats right, you dont want to rush that process.....although I have to admit that due to Mrs Cobs persistence I sometimes have to use the paper bag trick. Just take said paper bag, and then get another paper bag and cut it into strips an inch wide or so. Layer of buds, then layer of strips, then layer of buds...you get the picture
Smokable in a day or two tops, but the harshness from the quick dry may not go away.
