Cloning in my homemade aerogarden.

I have done 3 trials of clones so far and have failed. I just recently brought the water level very high and got the pH back to a 6.8-7 with my nutrients (Botanicare Pure Blend pro (Veg state)). I usually clip where I want it on the plant, place the clone in water for a minute. After that I make my cut and drench it in the cloning solution (rooting compound) then stick it deep into the sponge with a 24hr CFL light cycle. I have 2 very long bubble stones stretched across the entire bottom of my container and moisture covers the bottom so I dont think that is the issue. :wall: Any help would be appreciated this is my first time ever cloning and I would love to use my aerogarden.

Bubble stones, 2 long ones that take up the length of the bin. I can get pictures but it will be with my phone. I don't know if its a good idea waiting on a camera.

No the stems now sit right above. I had the water about half way and it didnt seem to be working with my tests so I just raised it now the stems are bout 4-6 inches away from the water level. I know the roots will need room to grow after they start but starting them is my issue.

when cloning i thought you wanted a PH of 5 or 5.5? also you dont need any nutes for cloning.

tell you what man. i spent $100 on a aeroponic power cloner and ill tell you that for cloning less is more.
it never worked for me and i now clone in rockwool cubes with a 100% success rate.
cut at 45 degree, dip in cloning gel, stick in rockwool cube, done. i put cubes on a tray with a little water in it and just keep some water in it at all times and let the cubes soak up what they need

If I got this working properly I can put out 3 batches of 20+ depending on success rate at a time. Small roots, drench them in wet soil and they can go anywhere. If I cannot get my project working i'll consider thank you. The water needs to stay at 6.8-7 for perfect pH, regular tap water is over 7.6.

I would say yes. Like I said before, you can lower the level of water after the rooting begins, but they must be in the water some. I just made some clones by sticking cuttings in a 3 oz cup with no gel or hormones or air stones, but they were submerged the whole time. You need to get your ph down to around 6.0 and no nutes. I am lucky and have a well with very low ph. If you want to see my 5 cent hydro-cloner, look here at post #127 :

I recently attempted my first cloning experiment after being given an AG. I did the normal 45 deg cut under water, scraped the outer layer off on the bottom inch or so. Next I took Gatorade bottles, drilled a whole in the cap, filled with water, and placed the clone's stem inside. I let these sit in medium shade for 10 days, then transplanted to the AG. Roots had not yet sprouted. I had a batch of basil going, with a few open spots. The basil was on its 4th week so was on a nute schedule of 1 large tablet of AG nuts per week. After 5 days, the clone had went from zero roots to 1" roots and producing new veg.

The cuttings were taken from a Purple Trainwreck strain from my outdoor medical grow which was about 2 weeks into flower. The cloning experiment was more of a result in "let's try this" than an actual attempt of growing ganja in my AG. It seems to be growing so good though, I may play this thing out to the end.:weed:
