Is the U.S. Government GUILTY of MURDER by outlawing cannabis? Genocide?

O.K. stay with me here...deep thought going again!

Tobacco-Related Deaths
· Nearly one in every five deaths in the United States is a result of smoking,
making tobacco use the leading preventable cause of death.
· More than 440,000 deaths in the United States each year are attributable to
tobacco use, resulting in more than 6 million years of potential life lost each
year.
· Smoking during pregnancy causes more than 1,000 infant deaths per year.
-Not to mention those who 'have to take a short trip to buy some cigarettes' wind up as traffic fatalaties instead?

IF cannabis would have never been illegalized, would many of those who smoked cigarettes smoked cannabis instead?

Since cannabis use is LESS HARMFUL on lungs than cigrette use, did the government ALLOW people not ONLY to die, but allow others to continue to die?
The government KNOWS that cigarettes are harmful and will kill you, they put out the Surgeon General Warning on the damn things (finally).
Yet, they continue to allow them to be sold everywhere... (ages 18 and up, of course). So, the government is GUILTY as CHARGED of murder!

'Lawn Darts' were a poorly designed product (probably by a serial killer)that were yanked off the market in a short amouont of time.

The government agency (Consumer Product Safety Comission) saw the deaths that occurred and the product was banned.
SO WHY does the government continue to ALLOW the sale of something that is the leading cause of death in the U.S. ?

A similar argument can be floated for stem-cell research. When a powerful interest group opposes an otherwise good idea, follow the money. cn

looking in hindsight, yes, theyve killed billions of people through the distribution and support of drugs such as alcohol, tobacco and many pharmaceutical drugs. many believe this is an attempt to keep down population, but it goes much deeper than that. remember marijuana prohibition was supported by much more than our government, it was supported by big corporations who feared marijuana would jeopardize their businesses, such as the paper companies, as well as many alcohol distributors, theres plenty more i could name but the list tends to drag on. it all comes down to this, hemp, biomass(which can make clean fuel), and medicinal marijuana are a threat to these companies, they risk losing consumers to a much cleaner, safer alternative, many of them arent prepared to switch to something like hemp, biomass fuel, or a substitute for many medications, not to mention it has almost no side effects and can be cultivated by almost anyone. this prohibition has dug in too deep, and has way too much damage to the earlier generations, reefer madness is all you have to watch to know how misinformed our country is on this marvelous plant.

... And your user name is truly ironic, as all you added to this thread was... SPAM. It has been said that "it is better to keep your mouth shut, lest people deem you a fool, than to open it and remove all doubt". That's what you JUST did.

-The stats you say are "assinine
" are from Univ of Penn AND the W.H.O. (World Health Orginzation) You know- smarter people than you or I. But hey, you must be the expert. NOT!

Here's more salt in your wound-
Tobacco products are products made entirely or partly of leaf tobacco as raw material, which are intended to be smoked, sucked, chewed or snuffed. All contain the highly addictive psychoactive ingredient, nicotine.
Tobacco use is one of the main risk factors for a number of chronic diseases, including cancer, lung diseases, and cardiovascular diseases. Despite this, it is common throughout the world. A number of countries have legislation restricting tobacco advertising, and regulating who can buy and use tobacco products, and where people can smoke.

And of course, more in depth stats from W.H.O.

Next time, try refuting other peoples posts with FACTS or proven examples instead of just posting more SPAM! :cuss:

Government doesn't force you to smoke cigs, or drink alcohol, or take pills.
No one put a gun to any of these peoples heads.

You guys really do not see the point, do you? Of course nobody FORCED people to smoke cigarettes and get cancer and die. Just like nobody forced people to ingest, vaporize or smoke cannabis and live, either. Or forced people to consume extreme amounts of alcohol and rot thier livers.

BUT the U.S. Government is STILL trying to 'protect' us from the evils of cannabis (and hemp) yet they allow something that is actually PROVEN to kill millions of people to continue to be sold?
How about they reclassify cigarettes as a 'schedule 1' controlled substance? All cigrettes contain the highly addictive psychoactive ingredient, nicotine. That ONE sentence spells out the very thing they accuse cannabis of being, but is not.
The past and present sales of cigarettes are absoultely proof that cannabis being 'illegal' is in itself, illegal.

The government allows sales of cigarettes to persons 18 years and older.
The government should also allow the sale of cannabis in the same manner, since both cigarettes and cannabis are decsribed the same exact way by the definitions in the Controlled Substances Act.

Don't get me wrong. Cigs are cancer sticks to me. People who smoke them disgust me. But it's their right as Americans to kill themselves with cancer.

And obviously i want marijuana legalized. Anyone on this forum who doesn't needs to be banned asap.

O.K. this is weird...but I'm quoting myself.

That sentence in BOLD- All cigrettes contain the highly addictive psychoactive ingredient, nicotine.

Is actually HOW you can make cannabis 'legal'. With overwhelming PROOF that cigarettes are deadly and contain the highly addictive psychoactive ingredient, nicotine. Legislation needs to be brought forth to reschedule cigarettes as a 'Schedule 1' controlled substance. R.J Reynolds and the Morris families will make cannabis legal almost immediately, rather than thier source of immense wealth to be classified as 'Schedule 1'.

I'm with you macguyver fuck the haters most of them are medical patients that only want medical weed but their fucking it up the goverment will never reschedule weed for meds their making pharmaceutical weed extracts its the begining of the end for smoking and growing your meds. once the fda approves medical marijuana is fucked all out leagalization of marijuana and hemp is the only way to go. its been over 15 years since prop 215 and the feds are cracking down harder once they have an fda approved drug made of marijuana the feds are going to shut down every med grow and store on the books. then they'll wish they whern't against legalization everybody has a right to smoke weed not just the sick it was a free country but not since the war on drugs which made more drug users then before prohibition.
