Quit reading left wing blogs and do you're research on websites like the US census bureau or the bureau of labor statistics. Anyone that claims that the economy was not thriving during the Reagan administration is either grossly misinformed or a liar. The economy got better for EVERYONE, not just the rich. While it's true the rich got richer at a higher and faster rate, the middle class and poor were much better off than the preceding Carter years, and that's a stone cold fact.

It also seemed to work just fine during the Clinton years too!

Any idiot can post cute little trickle down cartoons, but all it proves is, they are ignorant partisan sheeple.

You need to stop getting your info from the government! I find it frustrating that Carter gets demonized for the fact that during his brief term the Big Oil club you know OPEC, the Bush's Cheney and CO completely tanked the economy and that no one brings up the fact Reagan only got elected because of the Iranian Hostage crisis which conveniently ended right when? Anyone?

I got two cold hard facts about Ronnie boy (Reagan sorry Ron's flock for any previous confusion I just realized how old school calling him Ronnie is) these two are not the only dirt I could dredge but IMO the only ones needed.

1. He took down Carter's Solar panels in the White House to make way for us to worship Oil again.

2. He started Dare, the War on Drugs and the kicker? He got a disease that as far as I know has only one proven treatment and he had started a war on it. He was a darned good actor though

ummm I do recall two major oil crisis in my time one being 1973 which was Nixon...The other was 1979 with Carter..Truth be known had we followed Carters energy plan we would not be so damn dependent on foreign oil today. People forget Carter create the Department of Energy. Anyone who thinks solar panels are useless must live in a fuckin cave. I would say get your ass out and visit areas with solar power. Hell take a visit to Germany and see just what that power can do. Foolish idiots some Americans can be at times.

You do make a good point about the '73 oil crisis, the first of two that decade. Some might argue Nixon's complete devalueing of our currency was the true culprit. I think it was a combination of many factors, Nixon fucked us on so many levels.

I think you have Nixon and Johnson mixed up. Johnson's social program "The Great Society" brought about massive deficits and the highest interest rates of that century. Nixon ended the Vietnam war and brought down inflation. He wasn't a great president by all means, on the other hand, he wasn't a total failure either. His only downfall was, he got caught doing what all politicians do, lie, cheat and steal.

Nixon opened China and thus drove a wedge against Russia. There is a very good set of reasons that we float currency today, and the agreement was on his watch. So, that's good. Trying hold a currency against a gold standard would have really screwed us in oil crisis and would have ceeded too much to Russian gold.

Johnson did just that. It is still a fact that many blacks today vote against Repubs because of Johnson. The reason has been lost to most, however.

Also, genetically, there is no Race. What don't like is weird sub-culture.

On the issue of divisivness, slavery card, resitution, modern racism, etc, let me ask you this? What is our main, most popular, most frequent entertainment, beyond News? Sit-coms. Where we sit a laugh at ourselves. Are there, in mainstream America:
Jewish sitcoms?
Asian sitcoms?
Muslim sitcoms?

There are two arrrived, established and cherished sub-cultures on America. Those both have sitcoms about it.
