any idea how to make 5 plugs into 1?

so i use alot of water pumps in my setup, and i have 3 of these set ups,

each setup uses 5 pumps and i would like to no if theres some way i could wire each pump into 1 power station so its like this

5x pump power wires into 1 station into 1 plug

i can swap the plugs for a different kind of plug e.g. DC power plug or another type, if anyone knows of a powerstation i could use?

why can't you just plug 5 pumps into a power strip then just plug the power strip in? If you want it hardwired and are handy with tools/electricity I'm sure there's a way to disassemble the powerstrip and wire right into each power port...but I don't see the point...

hi there, for me its not a problem, but i feel my idea is a really good one and want to make some more to attempt to sell to the shops, but the only thing holding it back is that if people want to use 15 of my product they would have 15 plugs, yeah i see your idea with disassembling the power strip but i dont no enough to make sure its safe,

and as for splicing wires i couldnt sell the product like that

why couldn't you sell it by splicing the wires or using wire nuts? open up any electronics and all you will see is splices wires and wire nuts.

oh right i didnt no if it was safe to splice wires or not, so i could simply just cut the plugs off my pumps and splice them all together with solder into just 1 plug with a bigger fuse?

im scared of selling an unsafe product and getting sued lol,

I am totally confused what the difference is from a power strip. Other than it sounds like you wish to go in a hard wired direction. But why?

Maybe I get it. You just want 5 pumps that use one plug? Yeah, I guess I could see that being useful for certain setups.

just for tidyness, i dont mind having loads of plugs but if i had bought this product and had to use 1 plug for everyplant i would be disapointed, i plan to sell in packs of 5 so would be good to make 5 pumps to 1 plug

could it not be set up like a loop(like the kind) thats used when putting up ceiling lights? you could even fuse every one seperateley(it works in my head anyhoo ) but with a biger fuse a loop system would be fine .. do pumps use a lot of power? i loop my fans and its all good!!!

i think you'll be fine. those pumps aren't drawing enough power to do anything crazy. if you splice them together and then cover them you will be fine. worst that happens is they eventually fail but that most likely won't be from the splice. talk to gastanker about it though. he has a lot more experience with that stuff than i do.

Why not just upgrade the pump? Have a single larger pump that feeds multiple sites.

i thought of this earlier but i wanted to have individual control, when the water reaches a certain level i need the pump to turn on then turn off when the water is lower... thanks for ideas its really helped im going to splice the wires and put a plastic casing round the spliced area

Pretty sure you can control the flow to each nozzle.

there probly already is a plug set made for what you want to do. whatever you design will have to be U.L. approved before going to market.

if you wire them all together you will have to move them all together.....just something to think about. what was already said it will have to be UL approved if you make changed to an already UL approved plug. good luck!

thanks yeah i didnt think of that.. my first idea was a power station where it could use small plugs like dc plugs or something similair but not sure what any of the parts are called.. trying to find on google but not sure what to search for.

and yeah i knew there was some checks for electrics but i didnt no the same so thanks

right now its not looking like its going to work, maybe i could put kettle sockets before the wires are joined by splicing...

It sounds like your looking for what iam trying to build.Basically you wire a powerstrip to a relay/contactor,then you can plug the powerstrip into a timer and then the timer into the wall and you can plug 5 different pumps into the powerstrip outlets.You wouldnt have to worry about the pumps overloading the 1 timer.I asked on here but no one seems to know or want to give out the info,hope you have better luck.
