Too potent pot?

When I was out there I noticed in the highers elevations that my trichs would be like 3 n 4 times more dense... aupon further investigation...lol trial n error.... I foung giving the girls more uv rays that they grow imense amounts of trichomes and spew out that good amber and smoked looking resin glands... never going to tell my secret of what spectrum works best but a little trial n error and boom.... uphoria.... she's only 4 weeks in 5 or 6 to go.... uvk

woah you just posted the same exact thing a few seconds ago i think, like word for word. im not trying to play the guessing game but im pretty sure your saying your secret is more UV(UV LED's are said to produce more potent bud, certain models put off more UV than the average HPS, sorry but this isnt a secret), being at a higher elevation means you will be more exposed to the sun, thus more UV. and more blue spectrum towards flower if im not mistaken. this is why people have the half HPS/MH bulbs supposedly, the 6700K spectrum mixed with 2500K is said to get the both of each side, more weight cause of the HPS but more trichs cause of the MH. as soon as i got the cash im gonna do a VHO T5 grow with some aquarium bulbs that put off the proper nm of blue and red light that chlorophyll A and B respond best to, ill flower one with veg lights(or +/- 6700K as we know them) and the other with flower(+/- 2500K), after that just as a follow up experiment i may try 1 red:3 blue and 3 red:1 blue, if my hypothesis is correct ill get more weight off the one with more red spectrum, more trichs off the one with blue. i will be doing this with clones to hopefully eliminate any chance to make this experiment invalid, if i do this soon(im expecting to do it in the next year or two) itll most likely be in a link on my sig. im sure people have already done this but i just wanna do it myself so i can do my own smoke test, ive been told i can be quite the weed critique haha.

The only time I or anybody I know has ever become sick off marijuana was within their first few experiences with it. If you exceed your tolerance you can get sick from "motion sickness" or even just from coughing a bunch. Seen it a few times.

The light they need... The higher concentrates of red and blue the higher you will be... But too much and it can make your girls sick and could turn them hermy

I just place a LED that runs near the 380nm UV, in every 15th slot of my array's. if yer craving wieght think about a couple infrared {about 780nm} tossed into your ratios.
as for light wavelengths outside of the plants asorbtion thats up too you and I hope its not for beta cartenoids cuz those are just piss poor converters of light energy.

One Led light bank running high power LEDs 3w with lensing, specifically a focusing one like 60' or 90' can easily roll on a light rail of 12ft and grow spectacular marijuana. your footprint is very narrow but the light penatration, asorbtion, and cost effiency justifies the cost of the rail. Not to mention if you look at the cost of LED at retail many are priced in line with having to acquire a HPS set up ( hood, ballast, venting, Fan, bulb) Spent 2500 on my LED's for Bud and Veg room and it was worth ten times more. Take a look at them find a US distributor or retailer. enjoy a 3yr manufactuer warranty that they uphold.

good info, ill try it out. do you use aquarium bulbs? and if so which spectrum do you use? i know they have weird names for em too, like ___ coral reef or some shit along those lines. might be a little bit harder finding yellow and orange though.

nice, thanks for the tip too. +rep for you and uvking, i feel like i can never know too much about specific lighting, ive been doing outdoor most of my life so all of this stuff has been somewhat new to me.

shit i could imagine theres some challenges you face, lucky your closer to the sun though, if i bet buds would be more potent if FL wasnt basically at goddamn sea level. at least i rarely have to water plants that are planted in ground, supposedly they tap into the water supply below the surface. too bad this shit holes probably gonna be underwater in a few centuries, maybe even less
