The Skunk and Blueberry seedlings are doing great. Nice and short, green, and standing straight. The Train Wreck never made it through the soil. I went digging for it today to find out what was going on...had seen a taproot when germed in paper towels and placed it in soil, but hadn't seen anything of it in the days since. Discovered that the tap root had extended out a little more and then had dried out. I made sure to give a little water everyday, so I'm not really sure if it's due to my own error or if it was just a bad seed. Kinda sucks, heard a lot about Train Wreck, but not going to sweat it because have plenty to choose from.

Got some more seeds today and now have 20 different strains. I don't know what the hell to replace Train Wreck with lol. Can be seriously indecisive when I have too much to choose from. I love Kush and always want to have one going...so guess I'm gonna go with Bubba Kush. Going to get it germing as soon as I'm done with this update.

Damn girl you are going to be smoking like crazy when everything is done(get it, it's perpetual so it won't be :) ). Always wanted to dry Blueberry, heard they weren't that strong thc wise, but the taste was pretty awesome. You plan on doing any clones or just straight from seed?

I know! I love to smoke. I would love to have enough to smoke everyday. Perpetual is probably the most ideal for someone like me...want to try multiple strains and keep a steady supply. I think I heard that blueberry isn't that potent before too...but am not sure if it depends on the breeder or not. I have the legit, old school Blueberry, so I just know it's going to be bangin! Bet it's still better than this shit weed I'm smoking now lol.

Will probably take a clone or two and keep the strain going...always wanted to have an old school strain.

By the way, decided to reserve Bubba Kush for another grow...started germing C99 aka Cinderella 99.

Hey Lady J! Looks like your babies are taking off over there. My big baby is getting fatter by the day. Still not sure when I should harvest her. The strain info says that she should finish flowering in 7 weeks. She is 7 weeks today and I think she still needs to go a little longer. This is my first grow, so I am not sure about the harvesting thing.... My pineapple chunk is taking off. She is growing much faster than I thought she would. I can't wait to see how she turn out.... Keep up the good work! This whole process is amazing and fun!

Those babies are looking good. I wonder if that Blueberry is gonna smell and taste as delicious as the name implies? I hope so! Shame about the Train Wreck though, that's a strain I'd really like to have a go with too.

Thanks Kronika...I heard it smells just like blueberries! I think I smoked it a long time ago but am not sure. Would be even better if it tastes like blueberries as well :-P. It is def a shame about the train wreck! It was from Green House seeds...have heard some people say they have problems germing GH seeds. Might try ordering it from somewhere else next time I buy some (not going to be for a looooong time :-().

greenhouse has some keepers.. you just gotta find 'em among the pheno's
heard good things about their SLH.. ;)

I had em out in the sun, and a cutworm found its way to them.

Good news, Lady. Have two of my Sparkle F2's up and ready to go 12/12!
Ill be more careful with these! ;)

Noooooo!!! I hope you found him and cut his ass lol

Owl please explain to me, I am not entirely sure...what exactly does F2 mean? I previously thought it was an unstable version of a strain but appears that I am wrong (not unusual :-P) Teach me!

I think I am going to give rock wool a try for germination. Have a cube sitting in water PH'd to around 5. Thinking about putting a reg Lambo aka Rambo seed in that I got as a freebie. Do you know anything about that strain? All I can find is advertised descriptions.

What is SLH? I have two other seeds from them, Bubba Kush and Himalaya Gold. If those don't pop, I'll probably never buy another of their seeds again lol. I know that I am buying one at a time so am putting all my eggs in one basket to begin with, but if those don't pop, then it's either true what I heard about their quality...or I should stay away due to superstitious reasons lol.

F refers to the generation. F1=first generation of a cross, F2 second generation of a cross, etc. F2 is made by crossing the F1 with another plant, either another of the same strain or a different one. F3 is made by crossing the F2 with etc, etc. For example you're the F1 of your parents(assume your parents are the first in their line) and any children you have will be the F2 and any children they have will be the F3 and so on. So this is why I took biology in college, wow lol.

Lol looks like it served you well. So an F2 should actually be more stabilized than F1? Just trying to figure out why I saw a post where someone was mentioning that an F2 was undesirable compared to an F1. I have a few Big Bud #2 (F2s), heard that it was probably a freebie because is unavailable to buy anywhere since it was F2 and unstable.

Looking good, and that little baby is super healthy! If you want my opinion, you have longer to go on your buds. Let them get fatter, and they should be ready when you have a bunch of orange hairs curling back to the bud / laying down on the bud rather than sticking out.

It's awesome that you have most of your fan leaves and they're so GREEN. Just know that's going to be an awesome smoke. What strain are the ones getting ready for harvest?

Depends on what you're trying to do with the strain. For instance you can get a 100% auto(statically speaking) with any strain if you cross it with a 100% ruderalis. Potency is a whole other thing you'd have to look for in each pheno. If you wanted to make Sour Kush x Big Bud and you grabbed a BB pheno that showed a lot of growth you could try to "extract" that into the next generation. If you're trying to preserve the strain and you mix it with something else, yes, it is undesirable. In that case though I don't see why you wouldn't just clone. If you're trying to develop a strain that you like and works for you then cloning/buying seeds simply won't work.

Keep in mind traits that shown on the parents may not show on the next generation. Look up punnet squares. Each gene has a % of likely hood in showing in the next generation. It's easy to guess what it is for autoflowering because pure ruderalis plants have a 100% chance for the gene. 4 plants divided by a 100% chance for the first generation.
