Yea, definitely looks like an awesome bulb. I'm thinking (4) Ultra Growth Wave, (2) Coral Wave, (2) Red Sun. I found some at http://www.aquacon.com/WavepointT5Lightbulbs.html. Let me know if you guys find any other sites.
Most definitely man, buying these bulbs every 6-12 months will put a hole in your pocket. You've definitely proven that one can grow some danky doodle with Flora Suns and some good old 2700s.Too expensive for bulbs I'll stick with what I got, for the amount of money you put on a ballast and bulbs you could buy a kessil led
I understand where you are coming from, but personally talking to someone, KEssils are made by HYDROFARM which is a good company , second i know someone who pulled 2 zips one plant on this thing, growing two plants at a time, i couldnt complain on that. And when you do DIY leds, yea you can save money but hety i would rather spend more and get a warranty with it. but fuck im T5 all the way right nowMost definitely man, buying these bulbs every 6-12 months will put a hole in your pocket. Although LED lighting is a very attractive option for small growers, I'm not too sure about the Kessils. If I were to spend $250-300 on LED lighting, I'd just build myself a nice panel using 3W CREE diodes. This should outperform the Kessil product on every level. They even have some cool DIY solderless kits on RapidLED.
You are right about the Kessil lamps. They are really nice and they have an overheat shut off protection. Something that a DIY probably wouldn't have right? I own a bunch of kessil lamps and I really like them. I still only use them for supplement lighting and they do a damn good job. I am trying the deep purple h350 right now for veg over my aero garden to see how it compares to my hortilux blue. Oh yeah, the Kessil lamps also are able to mix all the wavelengths together so they are premixed before hitting the leaves which is always nice.I understand where you are coming from, but personally talking to someone, KEssils are made by HYDROFARM which is a good company , second i know someone who pulled 2 zips one plant on this thing, growing two plants at a time, i couldnt complain on that. Don't waste your money or time looking for them, the Florasun lamps will do the same thing at half the price.Looking good guys! I can't seem to find any of the new Ultra Growth Wave bulbs from Wave Point. Can anyone recommend a good site for these?
Why change the lamps at any point during the whole grow cycle? The 660nm light is going to make your plants grow faster regardless if it's in veg or flower so why change them at all? I get the idea behind changing from MH to HPS from veg to flower because MH is pretty much 100% blue and HPS is on the red side (which is why some people combine both lamps and leave them in for the whole grow together), but with this perfected T5 spectrum I don't really see the need to change out any of the lamps during the entire grow. The Coral Wave with the added IR may be a different story, although one I'm not that familiar with.J20:
FYI I would not use FS until flower, I just don't think you want that much 630- 650 in veg
Any LED driver worth using will include over voltage/over current protection etc. So yes, a DIY panel would include this feature. I have no beef with Kessil lights or any other brand of LED for that matter - I know they work and hold their own vs. HID all day/everyday. Having said that, my opinion is that a better product can be had for the same price (perhaps even cheaper). To each their own, my opinion and a dollar couldn't buy a cup of coffee. You are right about the Kessil lamps. They are really nice and they have an overheat shut off protection. but if something happens to the pannel your SOL at least with a company bought LED you have a warranty but hey its personal preference and i see exactly where you are coming fromAny LED driver worth using will include over voltage/over current protection etc. So yes, a DIY panel would include this feature. No way, I have to use 4 x kessil h150 reds to cover a 2' x 2' area! I also use 4 of them to cover a 4 x 4 area as well. But they sure do penetrate 100 times better than a T5 like he said. But does the Kessel cover the same 2 X 4 canopy equally as well? My guess is HELL NO
