Unfortunately my condo doesn't have a central AC system, otherwise I'd already be doing this. My only option to battle this years heat wave is a portable AC. I think when it starts snowing heat won't be an issue as the 600w runs warm lol.
My place has central A/C but not in the garage where the tent is so I am in the same boat as you....:-(

I took the A/C out of my tent and put it in my garage. It is exhausting into a wall, let's hope that will suffice. I will post pics when I clean it all up.

exhausting into a wall, or out through a wall?
Nope, right into that fucking wall! It is a big wall and it is drywall on both sides so there is some space in between. It isn't permanent yet, I am just testing it out. I don't know where else I can vent it, I don't have a lot of options and there are other garages on the other sides of the walls so it's not like I can go right through the wall. Hell I may even get caught doing this cuz that exhaust is kind of loud. Oh well I am taking a risk here but sometimes you gotta take some risks and press the Fuck It button.

(Tent: 4*4*7)
(Current Lighting: 400W HPS)
(Current Ventinaltion: A/c'd Room, Fan drawing air in fan on wing and blowing towards exhaust hole)
Waiting For 600W Setup with yeildmaster 2 hood and some inline fan for venting the tent better but this worx for now

Last attempt 5 smaller plants, first grow nothing for nutes other than 20 20 20 during veg about 15-20 g a plant

This attempt I have started using the General Organics Line up (Go Box) seems to be helping alot.

A Pic of one in there now.

You can make a silencer for it man.
Thake a cardboard box, or make one from wood. Vent into and out out the box and line the inside walls with a few layers of egg crate foam. Obviously the bigger(longer) box the better results. This can be made as a cylinder as well. Buying them pre-made is a waste as the cost is prohibitive.

-4 foot wide X 2 foot deep X 5 feet tall mylar grow tent
-400 watt hps with air cooled hood
-240 cfm 6 inch fan
-carbon filter
-fox farm soil and nutes
-exhale co2 bag

i run a 8 plant perpetual grow 12/12 from seed, all the plants are started with a week or 2 between each other so i have plants growing at all stages but still under the hps on 12 hours. i also like to run 8 different strains at once as well. this allows me to get a cycle going where i can harvest 1 plant every 7-10 days and get about 2 ounces per plant. 2 ounces a week is pretty good for one persons meds i think :p

that pic is of the set up before i started my cycle and was growing some white widow in there. cant post no new pics cause my damn phone wont let me send pics right now...

I have never used odor control b4, because I never needed to. I am moving soon and want to get ready for the REAL world. I assume the carbon filter/scrubber is the best way to go. I will prolly be using my tent 4x4x7.5ft and either a 600 or 1000 watter, with 8" outlet, unless I go vertical. What size filter do I need? I am a poor guy and will need to be frugal lol.

ya carbon filters are the best way to go IMO. you just need to match the cfm rating of your exhaust with a filter that flows the same cfm. you want to match it the best you can. a little lower on the filter cfm wont hurt anything though. mine is smaller than you would need but it cost about 60 bucks on amazon. thats CHEAP

well its best to pull air through the filter rather then push it through so it depends on your set up. you talking about pulling air through the filter than through the light and out of the room? that works good. i would mount the filter as high as you can in the room to pull most of the heat out

Yeah thats what I meant filter and light hung. It would be filter-light-fan-and then out. I am just worried about weight on my tent.

you can remote mount the filter somewhere if you want so the weight isnt on the tent but tents are usually sturdier than you think. sometimes the cheaper ones with the little cross bars for hanging the lights give out and lights fall but i tie safety lines to all my hanging equipment in case something falls it has another thing to catch it

I can mount the fan outside the tent prolly, my tent is a Grolab. It seems cheap to me. It wobbles side to side a lil when zipping.

lol mine is pretty stable but it was the cheapest one i could find in the size i wanted. ya you can always do that. and if you want you CAN push air through the filter if you have to so that can also be mounted outside the tent with some ducting running to it

My glass and bulb get dirty, and I figure the filter 1st will fix that. Its a pain to clean the glass with my flowering girls in there...plus I exhaust my air out the house, with filter last it wouldnt be possible.
