So I plan on doing my first apartment grow in the next month or so.

I figure the closet with the washer/dryer hookup looks like the place to do it. I will be building my own box in this closet.

The closet is about 30''deep, 5' long and I could make it at least 5' tall, maybe 5'7''.

What do you guys think would be the best use of this space?

Single flowering box? Than I would have to build a seperate veg box I guess.

I would love to have it all in this single closet. Possibly make a divider in the box and have a small veg cab next to the flower side?

What do you guys think the potential yield is with a closet this size? I know it depends on strain and a million other things. But would a half pound be possible with this?

Also, I included a pic of the dryer vent hookup. I am thinking I will vent outside through the dryer vent. I will NOT be using a dryer EVER in this apartment. My main concern is obviously smell. But I figure as long as I have a good carbon filter, smell shouldnt be a problem.

So, what would you guys do with this space? Also, I am open to possibly building another small box in another room if I need to for veg or cloning.

One more thing. I will most likely be doing some type of soiless mix for my growing medium. Would love to do a form of hydro, but may have to wait til more money is available.

Dayum!!!! lol 2.3 pounds every 3 months? holy shit. I would be happy with that. lol If I could get half that on my first grow id be fukn stoked!!!

How many plants do you usually flower?

Depending on how I set up this grow, I was thinking I could do close to 10 plants maybe in this space. IF I seperate the box into a small veg side with a larger area next to it for flowering, I was thinking maybe 6? The flower box would most likely end up somewhere in the size of 2'deepX4'wideX5'tall. Than the veg cab would only be around 2x2x5. But I think thats probably plenty big for a veg box of my needs.

Any experience venting throught the dryer vent? remember, the dryer vent will NEVER be hooked up to a dryer

I grow a sea of bud's lst'd plant's with 8-20 top's and vege 5-6 week's avg...clone's growing now never produce as much as the seed crop! see my rotation....jackMy ac mount's on inside wall next to vege see O.B.!!!room under workbench!.jpgclones getting ready!.jpga-cup to DD cup!!.jpgFrosty!!3 more week's!.jpgMy LSD still streching week 5 flower!.jpg

lol looks like you dumped some sugar on that plant. I like. :)

man, that is really what I didnt want to hear about the dryer vent.

if I used the dryer vent as an intake, where would I exhaust at? Its gotta be stealthy and I rather not cut holes in my walls.

I have heard that exhausting just into your living space can raises humidity and cause mold issues or at least excessive heat.

Thats why I was thinking just intaking from my living space and exhausting the carbon filtered air out the dryer vent. But if thats not a good idea, I guess I need a new plan.

Would of been nice since its recessed in the wall already and ready to go. Looks like a straight shot to the outside as well. Damn, im depressed now. I thought it was the perfect little area. lol shows how much I know......

Is the space air conditioned? humidity would only be problem if you want bigger grow than mine!!You can exhaust through duct if you have window to draw fresh air through...see my grow stealth?? yeath no one that come's to my house has any Idea!! Plan Plan my work 3rd rotation so far 5.4lb's...

ya its an air conditioned apartment. The ac is about 30' away from this closet area. Not sure if that matters at all.

I was planning on doing a self-build box in this area. But just talked to a guy I know who has been growing 20+ years, he said to just wrap this area with some panda film and get a self-adhesive zipper for it. I need to talk to him more about my plans. I think he is going to help me set it up.

He was saying it might be better to exhaust through the ceiling into some duct work up there and out the roof. Problem is, not sure if there even is any duct work or an attic up there. I rather not cut holes in my apartment. Thats why I was stoked to see an exhaust vent already ready to go. I could intake from a window if I had to.

How would you guys use this space? A single chamber for both veg and flower? maybe add a divider if I build a box so there is a seperate spot for cuttings and veg?

ya thats what I was thinking man. Looks good to me. But ive never grown before. LOL so what do I know?

Ive heard alot of people say do not exhaust out of the dryer vent. Not sure why. Just tryin to see how you guys would use this space and/or if you would exhaust out the dryer vent?

update--------------I looked up, and found an access hole to the attic. lol So it may be better to vent through through the attic somewhere. Not sure how yet....still working on that. lol I still think it may be "easier" to exhaust through the dryer vent (no dryer) but it may be "better" to exhaust through the attic and out the roof somewhere?

Do you think exhausting through the attic would help with odor more over exhausting through the dryer vent?

I'm in the same situation, using the laundry closet in my apartment... about the same size too. I just have seedlings so far, but was just kinda planning on exhausting into my apartment... see how that goes ;p

I believe the reasoning for not exhausting through the dryer vent is mostly because people might smell the odor, but I'm not sure. If that's the main concern, maybe a good carbon filter would make it ok. I doubt it would start a fire or fuck up the exhaust vent or anything like that.

Ya I plan on getting an actual Can Carbon filter from HTG. One of the smaller ones. My main concern is smell. Pretty sure with a good carbon filter and negative air pressure inside the room, smell wont be an issue. Just where to exhaust I guess?

I was going to build a wooden room inside the laundry closet, but I may just wrap the walls with panda film, double side gorilla glue duct tape the fuck out of it everywhere. I will probably end up exhausting into the attic.

I took a peek in the attic, and it looks like basically, I have my own attic above my apartment. It looks like there are walls up there seperating each apartment. I hope so, cuz I really dont want someone up there for someone else apartment and seeing ducting and shit running from my aparment
