Do you agree that this is strange?

When one person has an imaginary friend they are often considered crazy or as to have an overactive imagination...

BUT when a bunch of people have the same imaginary friend, it's considered "religion."

...
:eyesmoke: Call it as I see it.

The "goo" theory is no more preposterous than believing in some wizardly farther figure sitting up on a cloud pointing his finger and saying "don't do it or I'll spank you"..... the original authors of the greatest work of fiction, the Bible, had some serious daddy issues.

Kosher, lol. What are we, Jewish?

... Anyways, enough bashing the religious side of things. How about this thought?:

Evolution. People think we evolved from monkey's, which is understandable. We have similar qualities, and monkey's are considered to be very intelligent.

ALTHOUGH: When Darwin was studying finches and their beaks he realized Natural Selection takes place. Example: There's tree's all over, the tree's have holes where grub or other edible insects are deep in these holes. The birds with long sharp beaks are able to get the food, therefore populate and continue passing on their genetic superiority.

Keep that in mind, because if people think we evolved from monkeys... There would have had to of been some sort of natural selection involved that would force the species to evolve over time. Now.. If we evolved from monkeys, looking at how adapted we've become, how come there's STILL monkeys?

If we evolved from Monkeys, the natural selection (leaving us superior) would have eliminated their species due to their lack of ability and where they stand on the food chain.

I don't think we came from monkeys, tell you that.

sadly you must not know History too much...

go back and read what the ancients knew.. it's only RECENTLY that people started to say... there is no higher power.

I am not going to get in on a bashing one religion or another... however for me... I feel our past history will prove there is a higher power that the ancients knew and we have yet to understand.
Religion ANY RELIGION is about FAITH...

Not if we aren't directly competing within the same ecological niche.... Look at the evolution of African rift lake Cichlids. Hundreds, if not thousands, of species evolving from from a single species of fish. ***and still evolving mind you...*** Each new sepcies didn't out compete it's predecessor and replace it. They evolved to fit into and exploit under utilized niches.

We didn't replace Chimps because we don't compete for exactly the same thing in order to survive. We out evolved them because we developed to fit into and exploit a wider range of ecological resources and environments.

The Egyptians "knew" the god Ra drug the sun across the sky in a fucking canoe and returned each night to do it with the moon.... we can all agree that's wrong. based on your logic they'd have to be right because they believed it 5000 some odd years ago.

Well,We were talking about imaginary friends man, dose that mean it had to turn into christianity for real?
Sorry, should have made more note of that. In all honesty, I could care less what people choose to believe. I'm one of those people that if I know the truth, that's all that matters.

I'm just not going to slave my life away for some un-seen, un-heard being that is supposed to have somehow came-to-be and controls the destiny of one species on a planet with millions of other species on it.

You ever ask someone who goes to church regularly what happens to mentally handicapped children that don't know wrong from right?
Are they going to Heaven, or hell? Sad if it's the second choice, considering they were born like that. Or as some of you religious folk would say, "created in God's image."

What about animals? My dog happens to be the nicest, put up with the most bullshit, dog I've ever had. I honestly believe that if my dog was a human he would outstandingly defeat any person in a niceness and loyalty competition.

Now, my dog has never done anything wrong in it's life. But the bible doesn't say animals will go to Heaven.

Why the fuck should I believe in something that's not even going to save my BESTFRIEND from eternal damnation/darkness?

Shitty.

Another thing. Anyone ever seen The Grey? About the wolf sniper? Well.. The end of that movie kinda raps up what I'm getting at.

If Jesus/God/Holy Spirit loved us as much as the Divine Trinity is said to, why is there suffering? Why are children being murdered? Why are people starving to death?

ANOTHER THING DUDE: What's up with "God made everything to be used by humans."

I heard Anthrax is plant extracted. Doesn't that shit make you bleed from the inside out?

You people have to understand.

Scientists now-a-days are find out more and more about the world still. Even after so many years of archived work! I have a bad feeling that when someone figures out a way to prove that it's wrong, and there is no God.. Everything will be chaotic. And all those sexy hardcore christian girls will be toppless.

isnt that the nature of all things?Change itself, I mean cmon,no knowledge is certain and concrete,it is constantly subject to peer review especially scientific research if anything. If everyone realizes there is no God i for one dont think it will be a bunch of chaos and complete nonesense, there will be dumbasses who do such I can agree on that much, there are always rational people who will not be erratic over such a thing.
