Anyone recommend a ph/ppm pen/meter?

In the market for a new pen/meter. Just need PPM and PH.

Used the Hanna Grocek for a while. It was alright. Unless I bumped the adjustment knob, it never needed calibrated. That was great.

Awhile back, I mentioned i spent 130ish on a meter and people were saying that was too much.

Have tried the Hanna Red $30US meter. It needed calibrated every use, not looking to do that.

I guess I could get two meters, one ph, one tds.

Suggestions?

ive had my milwalkee sm802 for close to 5yrs and maybe calibrate it 2x a year. i like having the wand to put in res and main meter body stays out. the gut at wilwalkee told me the key was to keep the probe wet using tap water only.

Its a bitch on the money, but you have already spent as much and are looking for a new one...
so get two different pens, one is a ph and one is a ppm.

super easy to calibrate, i have only needed to get it calibrated once in 6 months.

BLUELAB PPM PEN, and BLUELAP PH PEN.

hands down.

Get it from an authorized warranter, and you will be trouble free, any troubles do arise take it in and it will be replaced if they can't fix it on site.

ppm i dunno cuz ive grown for years without a meter for it, i test ppm with my eyes checking plants, daily... well a few times a day really.

for pH i use both, the vial + eyedropper method from any petstore for a few bucks, and the pole ya stick into the ground thats a wet/dry meter, soil pH meter, from home depot i think, maybe 30 bucks.

I see they sell the replacement probe for about $70. That is rad.

The Hanna Grocek, the replacement probe is the same cost as buying a new meter (which comes with a probe). I never quite understood that.

You got the eye of the tiger, huh?

I've been using the vial and eyedropper for about the last 6 months, it does the job. It's sort of a pain in the ass though. Always losing that damn vial. Haha. Much prefer it over the paper roll though.
