600 hps light 500 grams?

a friend of mine told me u can only grow up to 500grams under ONE 600wht light

if u have only 1 plant under the light the flowering time can be up to 17 weeks

if u have lets say 25 plant under the same light it will be ready in 7 weeks

is there any truth in this ?

a good grower could get more than 500 grams from a 600w.

1 sativa could take up to 17 weeks to flower.

25 short flowering indicas could be ready in 7 weeks.


other than that, there is no truth.
it doesnt matter how many plants you have, they wont be done untill they are done. and different strains grown at the same time doesnt mean they will all be done the same time.

I wouldn't be worrying about yield on your first grow. I would spend my time learning how to read your plants, practice topping and training techniques. If you learn how to grow the right way yield will take care of itself. I would rather have 100g of great weed than 500g of mediocre weed. That being said; very few growers get huge yields on the first couple of tries. I know I didn't!

to get 500G .. some experiance growers can get 1 gram per Watt

17 weeks flowering time .. erm ok .. stavias maybe .. but I would not like to flower a plant inside for 17 weeks .. I could make two runn with some fast indicas in that time ..

plants ready in 7 weeks .. not even Autos can do that I belive .. flowering time maybe ..
but from start to finish atlest 8-9 weeks from seed to haverst .. but not normal plants .. even with a indica with 12/12 from seed would need a bit more to finish ..

If u flower a plant for 17 weeks u will pretty much ruin it, and it will probably turn hermie or just waste the grow. I think u probably have it backwards and its a 17 week veg, I bet if u veg a plant for that long u will get ur 500grams

Yes you can get the same yeild from a single plant. What I think your friend was trying to say was if you grow one large plant instead of many clones, to get the same yeild you will have to veg the large plant for 4-8 weeks first.
-8 weeks veg time + 8 weeks flower= 16weeks
-put clones straight into flower= 8weeks
Your yeild should be close either way...

Lowryder is the quickest auto I know which is 8-9 weeks.

yea ... and I guess Matt is right aswell .. his friend might just have exaggerated it a bit to make his point to his friend ..

I still like it somewher in between .. Im in no hurry .. rather get a nice good yilding end product with out have to keep 20 pots and what work that brings ..

and I consider stavia plants for outdoors .. well it of course depense .. but why grow them when I even like the buss of Indicas more .. need my stoned feeling .. and sleep medicin .. dont need to get more goofy

i was trying to find this out coz i had 1 plant growing it took 17 weeks to flower but i got 3.5 oz off it dry , but if i did put 10 in at the same time if the flowering period is faster it would be a lot better

my mother plant was flowering for 17 weeks bluecheese under 600 hps light by its self thats flowering under 12/12 not including veg state

my friend from holland who grows over there told me if i did a lot of plants at the same time with out topping them it would reduce the grow time and only half oz of each plant . thats y im asking if any1 here knows if its true

the plant that took me 17 weeks in flower was a mother plant 17 weeks in flower not including veg state have 10 clones 3 week in flower right now fingers crossed it wont take 17 weeks

Ruu, if the mother plant took 17 weeks to flower, than the clones will most likly take 17 weeks to flower. In my experiance, if you put clones straight into flower, they take a week longer than a mature plant. I think the reason being that the mother/vegged plant is already mature and and can put all energy into flower. The clones take a little longer in the transition phase of flower because they need to use some of their energy on setting/establishing their roots.

I always got almost exactly 450g from my 600w set-up.
4xkush, scrogged, in hydro, 2 weeks cloning and about 5 weeks veg.

Is that really 12-16 weeks of flowering or is that 12-16 weeks that the light is set to 12/12, cause like alot of ppl do that I don't agree with is to put their light to 12/12 b4 the plant has show any preflowers so even if its not showing sex but the light is on a flowering timer doesn't mean ur plant is flowering.

will do its about 3 week in now ill take a few pic of them tonight

after clones came back and healty root system
the clones have all been in veg state for 4 weeks under a 300 wht bulb doing very well roots ect

then 1 week under 600 hps 16 hour light 8 hour dark something to do with the root system works better but its touch and go if it starts flower stage under 16 hour light, the plants nearly trippled in that week


now im on to 3rd week 12/12 600 hps they are at full height buds growing nice and plant is thickening up

all i know is the plant that was in 17 weeks of 12/12 started budding after 2 days
it was in veg state a long time hence the mother plant
