Nope, cant link shit. So these are pics of a 295 watt cfl grow. 2X85 watt and 1x 125 watt totaling 15k lumen. I want to get better watt per lumen ratio and will prolly switch out to some 40 or 45 watters eventually.

the most efficient CFL bulb is the 26W, so i'm told. lumens are a funny unit. i focus on wattage. lumens are a measurement of how bright light appears to the human eye.

you might be the right person to ask, since i can't find an appropriate answer on google.
what is colour temperature? what's the difference between it and spectrum? and why is it measured in kelvin as opposed to meters?
surprisingly google hasn't been able to help describe it in a way that i can understand.

color temp and spectrum are the same thing. not sure why the units are Kelvin, but the fewer Kelvin, the hotter the bulb. so Kelvin are an inverse of meters perhaps. flower, warm spectrum.......veg cool spectrum. cool is brighter than warm. it is kinda strange. meh.......why ask why, sometimes:)

why would there be a correlation (or inverse correlation) between wavelength and temperature? also, someone said in a different thread somewhere that colour temperature isn't the same as the physical temperature of the actual bulb.
i only ask why out of curiosity and interest in the physics of the matter. i fully understand its relevance to growing - which lights to use/why different spectrums are better for different stages in growth etc.
thanks for your help anyway.

hi man i think colour temp is diff from actual temp cos the colour temp is the temp a single colour of the spectrum is emitted at and actual temp is the collective temp of the spectrum....i think

by actual temperature, i meant like the physical heat off the bulb, regardless of the light.
can a single frequency only be emitted at a certain temperature? if so it would mean colour temperature is another way of expressing spectrum, in a single figure rather than say a diagram, right?
maybe i should just make a thread about this...

Hey, day 6. Woke up and the kush has a slight up-turned bowl effect going on. It is like she is making a cup with her leaves, looks like some fern gully shit. Lime deficiency? I dunno, ill let it do it's thing for a few more days, if it still bugs me later then I may do some treatment, But they are very young, I do not wanna mess with them at all really. In a week or so the kush should have like 4-5 nodes and maybe I can start lst.

Day 34 from seed. Switched to 12/12 about a week ago. Been using Alaskan fish emulation plant food from the home depot, meh it seems to do the job just following the directions on the bottle. Moved the grow to another closet that actually has a vent inside of it so temps are stable 70-79f. Will definitely upgrade to 150 or 250 watt hps. The left side is Afgan Kush fem, the right side is Black sugar fem. Topped the kush as it grew much faster then the black sugar. Tying them down and around with twisty ties, they are no more the an inch away from 2x85watt 6500k and 1x125 watt 2700k. See how this plays out, I don't wanna go buying more bulbs if I'm just going to get an hps maybe.

Random update, figure a few more weeks. I duuno. Apparently alaska brand makes a bloom nute, so ill prolbably grab that from home depot. Some things I want to try; organic tea's, coco, sogging.

Hey. Things are moving along pretty fast now. Every day I see more and more bud growing and it all looks as healthy as a pig in a china shop. Never got around to using any bloom nutes other then Alaska fish fert. They are small plants in some pretty good soil. Any idea on a harvest time frame? I know its hard to tell from pics, but Ive only done one other harvest before and I think I waited to long. Any help would be aprresh. I grabbed a crap ton of clones. Instead of just letting the bottom nodes/branches mature I figure it would be much more productive to grow them into their own plant etc. Just waiting on roots. Prolly gunna go Dr. Bud sog next time around. One of the pictures is what I got under a 400watt hps. You should be able to see the difference.

The afgan seems to love being toppped, she has 4-5 solid 6in' nodes with a ton of popcorn all over. The black sugar is a beautiful plant, her leaves actually get a dark almost black hue.
