U.S. cracks down on "world's largest" medical marijuana dispensary

I don't think that Harborside ruined it for anybody but themselves. There are no licensed dispensaries that are flying under the radar. Hundreds have been closed in the last few years and hundreds more have opened up for business.

The feds are playing a game where they try to get the most effect for the least amount of money spent. Very few dispensary owners or employees have been arrested but many threatening letters have been mailed to landlords promising forfeiture if they don't expel their tenants. The feds have just picked the lowest hanging, easiest fruit to harvest and now they will sit back and let the finger pointing and infighting begin again.

Everybody that has a medical recommendation, or not, but is involved in the cannabis industry has picked a fight with the feds. We are all operating contrary to federal laws so it is not at all surprising that the feds are taking action.

The end result of the feds activities will be a much better coordinated black market for recreational smokers and a tougher time for sick people who can really benefit from cannabis.
Making a nationally syndicated television show about selling cannabis to the public while they know very well they are breaking federal laws is flaunting in my book, so I guess we'll have to agree to disagree.

I also know a couple of Bay Area dispensary owners who were pretty pissed off about Weed Wars and the publicity it brought.

I agree with you that Harborside was flaunting what they were doing on national TV. The point that I was trying to make is that the feds have been sporadically closing down dispensaries for years.

Places like Harborside, Oaksterdam, Northstone etc have all been very much out in the open and are easy, very visible targets for prosecution. The feds could have closed Harborside years ago but waited until after the show aired to increase the public's perception that they are on the job and that no one is immune from persecution.

The TV show was a gamble and it went really bad for them. I never saw the show because I was pretty sure it wouldn't reflect my reality. Who knows what he future will bring.

if they do it openly, and without any shame, they are flaunting it, thus evil and they deserve what they get when they are sent to the ass rape hotel.

OR

they do it without fanfare and keep everything on the down-low, then they are a secret cabal of conspirators, plotting to sell marijuana laced milk to schoolchildren! they are evil and deserve what they get when they get sent to the ass rape hotel!

thers no winning when a needledicked federal prosecutor decides to bust you. all oyu can hope for is a jury of your peers, and the jury rejects the claim that "marijuana" can be banned by the feds.
