EXACTLY. Just because one opposes gay marriage, does not mean that person is against gays or thinks they are any less of a person. It just means they have respect for the sanctity of traditional marriage and possibly other things.
But "sanctity" is just another codeword for the moral corset of those who would teach others what's right. cn

Not to me. When I hear sanctity nothing religious or moral related comes to mind.
[h=2]sanc·ti·ty[/h]   [sangk-ti-tee] Show IPA
noun, plural sanc·ti·ties. 1. holiness, saintliness, or godliness.

2. sacred or hallowed character: the inviolable sanctity of the temple.

3. a sacred thing.

In that case, you have an unorthodox view of that word. To almost everyone else, it's a religious term - indeed one of the definitive religious terms, like "worship" or "soul". cn

i had never even heard of this chain before the story broke. there is only 1 in my whole state and it's nowhere near me.

i don't have a problem with religious people owning a chain of restaurants and running them how they see fit...until they start using it as an excuse for bigotry. if your religion involves looking down upon certain groups who have done nothing to you and proudly admitting this in public, i don't want to eat in your restaurant.

i do wonder what this will actually do to their sales. there are many people boycotting but the company is getting a lot of free advertizing. at least 4 people on this thread have commented on the deliciousness of their chicken and didn't get paid a dime to do it. social media is a hell of a thing.

let me know when the government is no longer issuing marriage licenses, bruvva.
That's what I mean. Gays should not push for gay marriage, they should push for the government getting out of marriage altogether. Government should not be involved beyond legal issues related to contracts.

As long as marital status affects tax status, this'll be hard to make happen. Jmo. cn

oh yeah, that's realistic.

gays should go for the difficult, practically impossible goal instead of the reasonable, commons sense goal of equal rights.

so self righteous.
