It's something to consider even if it isn't conclusive. Its easy to dismiss cases that are said to have been settled. But whose doing the settling hm?

going to the 9 pm showing of the dark knight rises

Think I should be packing?
I always pack. Shit goes down when you least expect it, so why would you bring it sometimes and then leave it home other times?

And if you've ever been shot with a vest on (I have) you would realize that its like getting hit with a baseball bat by someone who knows how to swing it. Body armor stops penetration, it doesn't catch the bullet and lay it neatly beside you. Knowing that, how long do you think he could of stood up if someone with the balls to do it stood up and started coming at him while hitting him center mass repeatedley?

All the idiots who think we need to get rid of guns should realize that this will happen constantly if your average citizen cannot protect themselves. Guns will ALWAYS be available to criminals, ban guns and it's just the honest people who can't protect themselves. Sadly though, too many people have put their faith in law enforcement and no one even packs a gun these days, and things like this will keep happening until more of us start producing weapons and dropping these punks.

An armed society is a polite society.

An old friend called me up saying he hasn't finished building his AR yet, but just bought 5-25 round magpuls mags. Dude thought they'd be pulling them off the shelves or something because of this, lol.

The implications of completely relying on local law enforcement not excluding armed forces that are now on call if needed in the streets as well would do so much more harm than good. People are already afraid of things that they shouldn't be because of propaganda. The more they showed movies and news associating muslims with terrorism, the more the people agreed with bombing those countries in the middle east. They idiotic polls used on Fox or whatever other network they used it on asking which country the US should bomb and the more propaganda, the more our people would say yes lets give them Payback for something that they didn't do nor is any of our business. I don't care if people think the US should play peacekeeper. Its slowly sucking the good out of not only ours but other countries that we infect. Our presence is only sound to secure our own needs.

Its sad to think that you have to go everywhere packing... I'm CCW and do not. I don't live my life thinking that death and trouble is always around the corner. you keep thinking that somebody with a side-arm could have stopped that guy...Maybe and maybe not. EVERYONE SHOULD NOT CARRY.

when people say "An armed society is a polite society." I then know maybe two things about them

1. They are American

2. They probably have never lived outside of America

Now don't take it wrong. I do believe you have the right to carry a sidearm or certain types of weapon for protection...but a full-automatic firearm always causes me to pause on who has ownership.

In short I guess I just wish Americans were not so damn gun hoe happy. That shit is hurting us as a nation, people, and civilization.

Someone should have emptied a magazine in his fucking face. "Careful, he's an American, he could be packin..." That should be the assumption.

with tear gas in the mix face shot kinda hard...They were at the movies..they were not "in" a movie.
It must surely have felt that way though. I would not be surprised if some theatergoers thought this was some sort of promotional event until the blood turned out to be real. cn

Full auto firearms are very hard to come by since it MUST be produced prior to 1986 for a Class III licensed gun owner to even legally attain. A full auto AR-15 made in 1985 is gonna run you $20,000-$30,000. Maybe cheaper if it is well used. You don't just walk into a gun store and buy a off the shelf full auto weapon.

The batman shooter didn't have a Automatic weapon.

No one, absolutly NO ONE has said it was fully automatic. The term Semi Automatic has been used by every public oficial on the news. This is how the crap starts, someone does not listen and then the world thinks he had a machine gun. You dont just go to the store and get a machine gun. All AR15s that are available for sale to the general public are semi automatics. I have two, they are no more or less dangerous than the standard semi automatic deer rifes or hand held pistols.

The guy is a nut, flat out lost his god damm mind. I think there is more to the apt thing. Of course the police say that they were the target, I think not, I think the stereo went off at midnight and he thought the neighbor would trip the door, blow up the building and start a huge fire, all the police, fire and rescue people would have been there when the shooting occored and he felt he would have more time as it would have been tough to pull away from there not to mention the 911 call center would have been loaded up and the calls from the theater would not have gone right through. This is a very calculating physco and had that building gone up in flames a lot more people would have suffered and not been able to get help right away. THIS KID IS JUST FLAT OUT SICK.

2 months ago I looked into what it would take to obtain an M60 machine gun. It would have been for my dad who fired one everyday in Vietnam. The guy at the local gun shop said that the last time he saw one it was going for $60,000. WTF?

I guess pops can look at pictures in the magazines. LOL!

The supply of Federally-registered full-auto guns is fixed at best. Demand is there, and that makes for bubble pricing. cn

My buddie bought a m16 a few year back, took 6 months to get the permit and he paid 15k, had that kid had a machine gun things would have been ten times worse than the already horrible loss of life.

I have not heard if it was semi or full. I do know that if you have the means you can turn a semi into a full..Now you are going to have Federal issues once you do and get caught, but is a crazy person worried about getting caught... again I don't know if it was converted as full or he had it as semi...still waiting on that info.

This is by no means airtight logic, but had it been capable of full or bust firing ... we'd be inundated with "news analysis" hinging on that. Jmo. cn

The police said over and over Semi Auto, also he had one 100 round mag a fully auto would go through that in seconds. Semi for sure, verifed by po po.

It is easy to convert only one pin and one spring needs to be changed. The parts are avaialbe on amazon and yes, if you get caught it is a huge fine. I almost applied to make mine fully but the permit was 1200 I dont need it anyway. But had that weapon been fully auto the loss of life would have been just about everyone there. Sad Sad thing to happen, just flat out wrong in every and any aspect.

I understand why fully auto's are not needed, but for those of us who just want to drink some beers and shoot some shit........it sucks. LOL!
