What species of mushroom is this?

Did you just pick that off the ground?

If you did, don't eat it.

I mean, unless you get it properly identified by an expert. But it's pretty difficult to determine what they are from those small ass pictures. But they don't look like the magic kind to me.

Yes.. I did not think they were magic, but I was still wanting to know what kind they are. I find them all over the place in my backyard and the woods.
Thanks for a reply!

Yeah, no problem. I couldn't tell you the strain, maybe someone else could, but not me. Maybe someone at The Shroomery?

Looks like the same kind I get all over my yard as well.

Yes I will have to make an account at the Shroomery. I have heard Fly agaric Aminita Muscarians grow in my area, and I have tried looking but no luck.

Don't worry I know I can buy them online already dried and safe. I just want to study the ones from the woods. Learn more about different types. I also am not going to eat the ones from my backyard. I knew that immediately was not pyschadelic. I will check out the Shroomery later on. Maybe someone will know.

I picked up a mushroom field guide for 15 bucks at a local bookstore. It has a ton of different mushrooms with detailed descriptions of what they look like and where u usually find them. If they are edible or not. Tons of photos too. I also have a field guide specific to my area of edibles in the wild and how to identify them. What berries are good, finding wild asparagus and shit. Good stuff to know.

There are reports of even "experienced" mushroom pickers making mistakes and dying from eating shrooms they thought were perfectly fine. It's takes years to learn the thousands of varieties. I was always taught the "blueing" of the shrooms when handled indicated the presence of psylicibin (sp?) but better safe than dead! But it's a safe bet that unless you live on or near a farm with cows, they aren't magic mushrooms. In the wild they normally grow on cow patty's (shit), although I've seen them on other medium too.
