with that kind of blind PC justice pedo's would fall into the some category, they cant be treated any different, bet the guys in pedo lock up jail would beg to differ as not many wouldnt

the point this side of the argument is trying to make that fits your analogy would be to create a different set of rules for pedos than for any other sick reason somebody might rape a child. The crime should be what determines the punishment. The state of mind absolutely must be taken into account, I'm not saying that. But the thought process behind the crime determines the guilt. Saying it's worse to beat up one race or another is racist by definition.
I think there is such a distaste for racism that we have fallen into a trap where our logic is overruled by feeling.

Why should it matter why someone hates you? Many of you have no idea how much people hate vegans or vegetarians. If I eat at say, Del Taco, the only thing I can eat there is a red burrito with rice, cabbage and salsa, no cheese. Even guacamole isn't vegan. I had to drive back because it had cheese. The stupid person making the food kept saying,"but red burrito has cheese." 
So if I get beat up because some asshole thinks I'm mocking their god, because he gave them dominion over animals, how is that not hate? Under hate laws it wouldn't even be hate if he considered me a "fag" because I ate no meat. Food preference isn't a protected class.
In Montana, a candidate for governor, Roy Brown, was accused of being vegetarian and therefore is anti-Montanian.
"Republican gubernatorial candidate Roy Brown indignantly denies being a vegetarian and accuses Democrats of promulgating a smear campaign against him:

In your mind where would "hate crimes" end? For instance if a person strongly disliked people that were obese and committed a crime against them, would that be a hate crime?
How about if a person really hated "bigots" and gave them extra punishment if they harmed another...is that a "hate crime" against bigots ?

what does the amount of vulnerability matter, are you suggesting/infering that it is up to the victim to not be victimized, and in comparison to "hate crimes" , it is up to the bigot to not act of their "hate crime " thoughts . . . .how does a thought one has have anything to do with vulnerability . .. or am i way off?
