not more of this anarcho-fill-in-the-blankism!

nation states exist for the purpose of mutual defense against the roving bands of raiders that would otherwise prey upon all agricultural and industrialized peoples. without a nation state for common defense aganst the savages there can be no society outside roving bands of savages.

catch a clue from history. the dark ages werent dark because christianity made it so, they were dark because the only light of civilization in the western hemisphere was extinguished.

psst... i mean the nation state of Rome and it's legions.
But Rome persisted into the fifteenth century. cn

Dropping the eminem references lol
Dr Dre and his associates are well respected experts in their field, and the publication cited was accepted for review by their peers.

as yet there has been no refutation of their research in that publication, nor in their follow-up works and other related endeavors.

Okay... so again because something happens doesn't give justification that it SHOULD happen. Got it... Mongols catapulted swaddled babies into my house. If I never harmed any of the mongols was their behavior justified ? How ?
Logistical support. Those babies are complete nutrition, and the expelled baby oil can restock the pots simmering over the murder holes. The swaddling is a nice touch to limit ballistic degradation of inventory. cn

Rome still persists to this day. but the Pax Romana is long gone.

rome and it's legions were crushed, and the Pax Romana ceased to exist outside italy in the 700's and within the italian peninusla by 900 ad.

the city of rome still exists and has been continuously populated since 753 BC. rome's dominant power in the Mediterranean and europe lasted from the the first century through the eighth century, after which it went into a sharp decline and the power vacuum it created caused the european dark age, and the scramble for power and dominion within the former empire, resulting eventually in the creation of the european nation states we see today.

I have to revisit that
I thought rome stopped existing in ~400 ad

Rome split in two. Byzantium persisted after the Western branch went tango uniform. The Byzantines are given somewhat short shrift by historians sanctioned and commissioned by the other leading brand, which still maintains its offices as a sovereign patch of urban Rome.

It is an interesting prejudice that Byzantium is excluded from Europe Proper. cn

Constantinople (also legitimately Roman) fell in 1423. But somehow historians have demoted it to "notreallyRome". cn

<edit> even I shorted them. They lasted 'til 1453. So yes, Romans battled Islamics directly.

I'm really confused
I thought baby powder was what was used for propellant in baby cannons
No; it's refined from the press cake left behind after expelling good, cold-pressed, extra-virgin baby oil.
The classic baby cannon fodder became today's infantry. cn
