Right here is my cannabis first grow setup, lighting and plants. The first picture is showing my makeshift grow room, the second is showing my grow box for my babies with the lamp at the top - the lamp is a 125 watt halogen lamp and is tempory untill my cfl's arrive but it seems to be doing the job at the minute! The 3rd picture is showing again a close up of my grow box and plants, the 4th picture is a close up of my 2 plants, the one closest seems to be the slowest growing at the minute and as you can see the one in the background is looking pretty good (both day 3 since planted) and finnaly the 5th picture is an outside veiw of my grow room which i think is kind of cool lol. Both the plants are Blue cheese strains, no nutes as of yet but have a collection of Bio-Bizz in the post. As i am a newbie i am looking for any hints, tips and advice, and i would like to hear some comments about the set up and plants if you could. Thanks

Get rid of the aluminum foil. The box is kind of small so i would look into LST, you can find guides on here. What size CFL's are you getting?

I am getting 2 100 watt CFLs so it's 100 watt each plant. And what is lst? Yes e box is small but just until they get bigger I thought it would be fine? Would u suggest me making a bigger box?

hey GW,nice little set up u have there where do u plan to flower?? it will get a little cramped in there in a few weeks or so.do u plan on ventelation or do u just keep the door open??. ive read a few time that tin foil is not good for reflection of light it causes hot spots and does'nt reflect light evenly cos of the creases in it.it will do for now but try and get mylar of rescue blankets(the silver ones) im not dissin your grow by the way bro! i bet by the time you've finished this grow you've got lights hanging from that roof and that whole space will be filled with plants not just the box lmao.its to infectious to resist this growing milarky u always want to bigger and better lol

Where did you order the CFL's from? My guess is that you ordered 100w equivalents which are only 23w. But it is possible that you ordered the right ones, but they will be pretty expensive and won't look like spirals like smaller wattage CFL's. LST is low stress training, which helps keep a plant small which is create for indoor growers in small spaces. There's guides on here just google rollitup LST guide. The box is fine for now but you may need a bigger one later on if you choose not to LST. Where did you get those seeds from?

LST low stress training basically bending the plant over and tying it down

Thanks CG appreciate the comment and rep. The camera is a bit decieving, the room is actually quite big, I am hoping to have both the plants in that room until harvest to be honest, I think it should be big enough, although I am a newb so I can't be sure lol but we will see my attic is rather big so I could move them to a bigger space no troubles. And when I am ready to start taking clones I think I am going to make another room specially for them!

Hey bubblegum.. As closetsgardener just said I got my CFLs from eBay, they are big ones 100watt each, don't think they are spiral they are more like loads of little tubes sort of thing but each light is bigggg. Thanks for the advice I will take it on board and make a bigger grow box for the start of flowering!

Good Good, those lights will be great. LST is a little more than bending the plant over, but you won't need to start (If you do decide to use LST) untill the 3rd node or so. What are the dimensions of the box? Some Autoflowers would have been create in there.

Not sure on the dimensions of the box, I would only be using the box until they get a little bigger, I plan to make another box today ready, but am finding that the box is beneficial at the mintute as its keeping all the heat in (although I have a fan to ventilate the air and am soon going to invest in a hydroponics exhaust fan) soon as they are a little bigger I will move them to bigger box. And by the way the strain is blue cheese I think you asked me they are from wew.everyonedoesit.com .. I find them really good, reasonably priced, quick and free delivery!

Yes you do lol! It's pretty good, not like good stuff or anything but it's just nice to get a free gift, like stickers and those rubber bracket things and pens and stuff lol

hey just some helpful DIY advice i've found..... you can buy fabic closets at K-mart/wal-mart. These are great for portable setups. Also, space blankets/emergency blankets make great reflection for walls, i know there is one side of the blanket that reflects better than the other too, fyi. They also have this insulation stuff that is bubbly idk what it's called but its the same material as mylar too. as for a homemade reflector for your 2x 100W lights, u can mount two light sockets to two blocks of wood, and connect them with sheet metal. Take ducting and tinsnips and polish and make your own homemade reflector for your lights. Since there is a bendable piece of metal inbetween the wood, u can bend ur homemade fixture as needed. My buddy did a grow like this and got over an ounce off his plant with 6 smaller CFLS. Also make sure u get some daylight (6500K) spectrum bulb and a little bit of orange for veg. Opposite or HID's for flower.. i highly reccomend switching to a HPS for flower because your CFL's will only penetrate 1 FT of foliage. have fun i hope some of this helps you! oh yeah, and if thats a seed , some people switch to 12/12 for a week about 2 weeks in so it will give u signs of sex. also look into micro-sexing with 100X magnifying glass... idk how it works but i know it exists

I have taken some of the advice from the last lot of pictures i uploaded and made a bigger box, its not massive but its all i had the resources to make at the minute. The light at the back is a 60watt flourescent tube, like i said in my last post i have orderd 2 100 watt CFl lights but they are yet to come :( ... i think the plants look pretty good at the minute the stem and leaves look very nice and green and healthy! Any comments and tips would be much appreciated! Thanks guys

hi again mate, the one on the left looks a bit streched so keep those lights around 3in from the top of the plant dont want it to strech to much or it will fall over(the strech prob came from when u just had the halogen on them).id turn the halogen light off now mate its not doing much where it is anyway.dont worry to much about the streched stem tho when u transplant into next pot u can bury the stem up to under neath the cotyledons.have u got your fan on them still?
